How will you be spending the Fourth of July holiday?

While Lucky headed for the cool Pacific air, I stayed in Palm Springs and took care of his dogs, who are pretty lethargic in this weather. Not me, though: I played tennis for two hours in the heat. Then I watched the Wimbledon final, read the Sunday papers, splashed in the pool--a typical summer Sunday. The traditional PS fireworks display at night was cancelled because of city financial problems, then was reinstated at the last minute, but they must not have found enough money, because it just fizzled out at the end, instead of the usual spectacular finale. And today is the official holiday, with nothing much to do; I think I may go for a hike in the mountains.

GF69-Any holiday you haven't worked? I have been out of the country on every holiday known to man except Christmas. There are worse places to be stuck on a holiday than Port Columbus.

Lol! Sad but true, Capt. KMEM. Hey, I did get Memorial Day weekend off, does that count?!... And my vacation falls during Labor Day weekend this year, so I guess I can't complain. CMH was fun last night, but we didn't stay there too long--had to lobby at 8:00am today. Just got back to Chicago tonight...always good to come home.

It all counts. As you know, happiness is a state of mind, not where you are. A friend of mine is a very senior captain and says, if you want to get together on 12 January, 2011, I can promise you I can get the time off, BUT he doesn't seem any happier than he was before he became that senior. Perhaps his 3 ex-wives has something to do with it?

I have a pilot friend and he is constantly away from his family. They have about 4 children and whenever I see her she seems stressed. I always thought being a pilot is tough on family...

Vegas 4th of July...

 

I just returned from Las Vegas where I spent the 3-day holiday weekend. I enjoyed the company of a local escort (on Saturday evening) and one of my all-time favorite traveling escorts from out-of-state (on Sunday night). Both hired guys were terrific companions and extraordinary F*Buddies. My favorite part of get-away trip was snuggling with my muscle-hunk after hawt sex on Sunday night and watching the incredible fireworks displays from my hotel room at Palazzo. The Strip was illuminated with fireworks displays detonated in front of Caesars Palace and at Mandalay Bay--fortunately, we had a great view for both. Afterwards, we shot some liquid "fireworks" of our own. Great fun and wonderful memories...and I really don't want to return to work and the real world tomorrow!
