I agree - it's kinda like shineing a spot light on it.

I think a lot of this discussion reflects the uncomfortableness Americans have with their own bodies. Even after the sexual revolution, there are obviously still deeply buried remnants of Victorian prudery in the American mentality.

In many other countries (like in Europe, South America, Australia) people are not brought up to be ashamed of their own bodies, so they don't feel weird wearing a skimpy bathing suit. When I first went to Brazil I was, of course, impressed by all the gorgeous guys wearing small tight speedos (not thongs) proudly flaunting their generous endowments. I was equally impressed by the fact that older men with, shall we say, less than spectacular physiques felt equally comfortable wearing such revealing swimwear. The same was true for women: very mature ladies in their fifties or sixties whose figures were long past the "Girl from Ipanema" stage felt perfectly comfortable and natural using very skimpy bikinis on the beach. They still do. I'm sure both the older men and women realize they don't have the bodies and physiques of the kids in their twenties, but they're at the beach to relax and to expose their bodies to the water and the sun, not to cruise, so what do they care? :-)

In recent years the young straight guys in Rio have started copying the American surfer styles of the baggy shorts. Too disgusting for words! I'm considering starting a rumor that baggy shorts cause a guy's dick to shrivel and drop off! SOMEbody's gotta take action before this goes any farther!

You don't MEAN it! Say it isn't so!!!

Yes tri - do something to stop that trend and not slowly!

Or that it causes impotence. Now THAT would get those straight guys into speedos in a hurry! }>

all of y'all that are cutting on those of us that wear baggies are missing an importent point. we wear what we like,we don't give a shit if people look at us,and i don't know anyone that wears baggies that is ashamed of his body.....it has nothing to do with anything OTHER than wearing what we like, and what we feel comfortable in.jeeesssshhhhh....

Well...actually, it has everything to do with buying & wearing what's presented to you in your local stores and what you see in your environs. If you lived in NYC, LA, Paris...you'd probably think differently. :p

I agree with you about "remnants of Victorian prudery in the American mentality" and " people in other countries are not brought up to be ashamed of their bodies."

As a foreigner I did not want to bring this subject up in my earlier post as out of respect I did not want to offend anyone. But your thoughts, TRI, are right on target.

Bet you wear short sleeved polyester dress shirts with a plastic pocket protector to keep your ball point pens from leaking.

NO i am not a breeder, and why can't you believe i am secure enough not to care what others think.it takes a really shallow person to live life, and esp. dress according to somebody elses idea of what is fashionable.

Easy, taylor easy we're not picking on you or your position. Well I'm not. But don't you think most guys wear or behave in a way that they feel the opposite sex approves?

Story. During the early 70's my cousin Randy was a teenager and he like all the guys then wore his hair long. Since his Dad was a redneck drunk bigot of course that made Randy a girl or a fag. His answer: " Dad, I'll cut my hair when girls stop liking long hair on a guy". After that his Dad never mentioned it again.

If you think about it a lot of what we wear or do or behave is patterned after the people around us. Sure you aren't trying to attract girls but you want the guys to look and we all want to fit in.

So if you like what you wear great. Most of us miss seeing guys be comfortable with their bodies and wear stuff that shows off. And even if you don't like other styles you can always learn to appreciate the difference.

Oh yeah for the record there are lots of guys who look damn fine in baggy stuff too. :-)

The best part of going to a big cosmopolitan city like New York for me is ( besides Rick Munroe) is seeing so many different looking guys and really appreciating how hot men can look.

Jeff

Is it hot in here or is it just the summer?

So here I was at the pool again today watching these guys in the big baggy suits climbing out of the pool. Some of those wet suits looked so heavy, like they were about to fall off. That gave me hope. Well a boy can dream, can't he?

Well I guess it's all a matter of taste!

And you - not I - used the word "ass", so if you are trying to imitate Ethan, you just might succeed.
