PD: Robber Sought Victims On Gay Sites

Sacramento Man Suspected Of At Least 2 Similar Crimes

 

DAVIS, Calif. -- Davis police are looking for more victims of a robbery suspect who met at least one victim through a gay-oriented Web site.

 

Decarlos Joslyn Muhammed, 22, of Sacramento, was arrested Dec. 10.

 

He's accused of meeting the victim on a dating Web site, going to the man's apartment on Dec. 3, then stealing the victim's cell phone and pepper-spraying him.

 

Davis police said the victim chased Muhammed into a nearby parking lot, where he was pepper-sprayed again. Muhammed eventually escaped into a waiting vehicle, police said.

 

Detectives said they think Muhammed surfed gay Web sites, posting sexually explicit ads and claiming to be a massage therapist so that he could get into victims' homes.

 

Muhammed is suspected in a nearly identical scam in San Francisco, Davis police said.

When it happened too me last year it was from a call off of massage m4m. This stuff can happen any where. I was also sprayed in the face it pepper spray

I wonder if Muhammed's only motivation was robbery or if there are some hate crime elements present??

Is there anyway we can keep these folks out of gay sites? Some kind of screening, or something like that? Is there a profile that would tell us who is going to misbehave like that?
