Wow, I just did a mental inventory of my massuer and occasional escort spending the last 10 years. No specific total comes to mind, but I could have certainly used that balance to pay down my condo mortgage, or maybe even pay if off.

Glad I spent it on recreation anyway, could be dead tomorrow!

Before the recession hit, some good friends of mine were lamenting how they had spent so much disposable income having fun when they felt they should have invested that money. After the recession hit and so many investments were wiped out and other people were as broke as they were, they decided that they were better off because they used that money to fuck instead of allowing their money to fuck them!!

Right!

Now that's a quote I will keep!

Probably too much, but I tried to enjoy every cent.

I look at this way, my main escort at decade's start (former escort now) has a place on fire island now . I don't. Clearly he managed my money better than I did. Good for him.

well

"Benjamin Graham and David Dodd, founders of value investing, coined the term margin of safety in their seminal 1934 book, Security Analysis. The term is also described in Graham's The Intelligent Investor. Graham said that "the margin of safety is always dependent on the price paid" (The Intelligent Investor, Benjamin Graham, HarperBusiness Essentials, 2003)."

Wall Street failed to have this simple safety net because of their greed and it resulted in an economic crisis. Will it happen again? Washington has not done much to prevent this as of yet so why not? Investments and savings, however, are not a bad idea. We just have to study our investments and figure out ways to save money.

In 90 seconds of mental calcs I can see it may have gone to 6 figs. eek

yes yes yes

at 250 an hour 400 hours takes you over the 100,000 that would be one escort every 9 days or so.

at 1000 for an overnight that would be 100 overnights or one overnight every month or so

at 1800 for a weekend that would be 56 weekends or one weekend every two and a half months.

Considering, i would go with the hourly given the choice.

probably just enough

Reminds me of the quote I heard yesterday about buying fine champagne...in celebration I deserve it....in defeat I need it....quality of life spending decisions deserve attention, and slight control of selections and overindulgence....tough to balance when around quality young men....agree that probably spent too much, but again not enough....happy new year all!

Actually, I try not to think about it....

But yet, I still do. Given my very anal nature, I actually have a list... Very sobering.

Ah... the 2000s...... I hired for the first time in Dec 2000... Clint Cooper... super dooper...

Can't believe it's been that long... shaking my head.

Quite a decade for me; Lost my Dad in 2002. Lost my 16 year old poodle, Bailey in 2004. Got cancer in 2006. Oh, and so, did my Mother. Lost my 15 year old maltese, Lily in 2006 on the day that I completed radiation and chemo. Lost my Mother in November 2007... which was odd since I thought the only REALLY SHITTY stuff happened in even numbered years... I was so wrong.

But I will tell you, boys.... when I was sick, I looked back on all my hiring adventures and had NO REGRETS whatsoever........ not a one... actually, it gave me comfort.

If I had died that day in the operating room (which I damned near did... the surgeon knicked my spleen and I had to go back to surgery when my blood pressure was 39/40)... how would any of that money helped me?

I have met some of the most beautiful men in the world. And they have helped me get past most of the internal homophobia that I was raised on. And I came... a lot.... with gorgeous men.

And also, it's just me. No kids to put through college. And these days, I am healthy and working and with a little something still in the bank. Blessed and lucky, that's me.

When the roof caved in and the truth came out.... that was 2006 for me. My charmed life was over. Or so, I thought at the time.... but here I am in 2010. Cancer free and still looking forward to somebody's knees pressing firmly against my ears. Hopefully, someone from Houston.

Money well spent, for sure.

That's the ultimate test of everything. Thanks for sharing your experience and this idea.

It bothers me to quote a figure. There have not been many men in this past decade, but there have been a notable couple that have had more than my money. When I look back on the booze, therapists, or other things that could have been done to work through my issues, all would have required money and time and regret in the morning. Thanks to AndrewD, mostly, and a couple of others, I have had way much more fun cumming my way and think of it as a life-saving and changing investment. I, for one, am the luckier and blessed for it, with or without the price tag.

Cheers!:)
