I thought the Boston cops were paragons of ethics, second in the area only to the FBI. Is this not true?

Truly, I doubt anyone care that much about what other folks are up to. They don't patrol hotel lobbies twittering with excitement that a working boy may show up, google searching phone numbers and swabbing dna from bathroom glasses for genome matching. I hate to burst anyone's bubble, but you're just not that important.

PMSL...You can say that again :D

I still stand by my post.

Thats the important part. That you stand by your post, regardless of what anyone else has to say. Igualmente.

I agree

Romann simply tried to help based on what he heard. I don't know why people have to be mean to Romann. From my experience, most hotels know when I hire escorts. They know local escorts too. Luckily they are trained not to talk about their guests' private matters unless they might threaten the hotel security. However, you can't help some hotel staffs who like to gossip and enjoy bashing gays. If you are visiting a city, people in the hospitality business are well connected and things spread very fast.

All I was trying to do was be helpful and pass information that I felt was important for the safety of everyone on the forum. Nothing more, nothing less... I still stand by my post and hope that it reminds all of us the risks involved.

I'm sure you passed this info on to us with the best of intentions. But the possibility does exist that your client could be a bit of a "Scene Queen" with a vivid imagination.

Could it all be factual? Possibly

Do I think it is? Not really

well

Maybe my perception was a bit biased then. Charlie I was not accusing you of anything.

I don't see anyone being mean to Romann. They (myself included) are simply questioning the accuracy of the information he has passed on from his client.

Police Stings

Almost all of the internet escort targets in Police Stings come from either craigslist or backpage this includes male and female ads. They also tend to be out calls at Motels that are under three stars although I had a girlfriend who got busted by the police doing incalls because she was causing too much traffic and drew too much attention to herself. One of my best friends who used to work as a Madame in the New York City Dungeon's had a boyfriend that was too careless with backpage. Two weeks into his new escorting career he was stung and arrested for prostitution at a Motel 6 in Ft. Worth. The judge basically didn't set bail for him and he plead guilty to the charge. He was one of six guys arrested in that sting all targeted from craigslist and backpage. Basically the best way to protect yourself is to not go to any shady hotels under 3 stars and if in doubt politely decline the request. You could also screen the client by getting two escort referrals. Thats my two cents anyway. Thanks Romann for the info.

Remember, Boston is the city that forced O'Neill's Long Days Journey into Night to premier in Qunicy.

Right on - we shouldn't forget that some entertainment uses the slogan "Banned in Boston" to attract more business.

I can't imagine any concierge helping to bust escorts and their hotel guests. Unless their customers were being a nuisance, why would they help ensure that this customer would avoid their brand forever? Now, if the encounter became disruptive, I could conceive of hotel security being involved, but never the concierge.

Indeed. During one of my stays in Montreal I ordered in. I was in a business class room, which requires a room key for elevator access to those floors. I told my date that he should call from the lobby phone upon arrival and I would come down to meet him. At the appointed time I get a call from the Concierge politely asking if its OK for him to unlock the elevator and send my boy up. I can’t get away with anything these days… Nevertheless, I thank Romann for the heads up about possible problems in Boston and elsewhere and the advice about playing it safe.

Hey Darius, welcome aboard!

I'd hate to disagree with you on your 1st post, but Im going to have to :( Although its not often, there have been clients I've met to stay at less than 3-star hotels for different reasons. If they have large pets traveling with them, the larger hotels may not allow that. So they may have to stay at a less than 3-star place. But of course everyone has certain things they go by. I wouldnt 'disqualify' a client if he happened to be at the travelodge instead of the Omni.

ROFL :D

thats all we were doing. It wasnt about Romann. It was what the client said. He was just the messenger.

We are fortunate in Canada in that outcalls are completely legal & stings of people offering incalls in their own homes are virtually unknown.

Still, I can imagine this scenario might've played out in the same way in many American cities.

It would be unusual for Boston escorts to check into a hotel in his own town would it not? Most do either "incalls" at the escorts apartment or "outcalls" to the clients hotel or home. Traveling esocrts check into hotels sometimes, but that would entail the police being familiar with the faces of escorts from other cities. A cop might sit in a lobby for years and never see a recognizable escort.

I also am sceptical of someone who says he "owns" several law firms. I have never heard of anything like that. There are ethical rules designed to prevent absentee ownership.

Romann, I do want to thank you for bringing this to our attention. One of the best purposes of this forum is to help us avoid stings, and to do that we need think about the problem.

There are some very closeted men out there who dont know about men4rent and rentboy and all the other male sites. I've met clients off of craigslist and they turn out to be normal men who just wanna have fun. I dont know about the people who advertise on craigslist but the ones who hire from there arent all druggies and cheapskates. Its just that on the off chance you do run into a nut, they can really be a nut! And then it gets publicized on the news cause the media likes stuff like that. I've also found that every since they've implemented the $10 start up (and $5 subsequent) fee it has improved, albeit expensive for the advertiser.

Some of the the nonsense I hear about craigslist is hearsay as far as Im concerned.

I have a feeling that we're going to all have to start using in-text citations :D

There will always be the "Something for Nothing" Characters! Some of these "Buyers" are as Wacked Out as the Sellers! :)

IF these guys are "Buying" they know about Rentboy etc!

The SELLERS also know to stay away from the Rentboy Buyer who knows to ask questions other than "How Big is Your Dick" to Seal The Deal! :D

Interesting....... I'm not sure I'd want to put it to the test.

Zipper, somehow I doubt that any country so civilized as to provide sex workers as part of the support package for its disabled citizens is going to get all that worked up over a bit of discrete prostitution. :p Just stands to reason.
