I didn't find either of these videos funny! This is a subject that is much to serious to be treated lightly. As members of the gay community we should be acting in a rational, intelligent manner and directing all our efforts to showing why we deserve the right to marriage.

I respect everyone's right to an opinion, but for me the issue of same sex marriage is too important to be laughed at.

Noah didn't make it clear, so I think you're a little understandably confused. The first video was the repugnant TV commercial put out a few months ago by the National Organization for Marriage, and is only funny in that it is so badly done. The second video is an all-star parody of that commercial, showing how stupid, hateful and hypocritical the anti-gay-marriage crowd is. Humor can be quite an effective tool at getting a message across. I think if you watch both videos again, you'll see what I mean.

I agree that neither of these are funny. I don't think that the subject is too serious, it is that the comedy attempts in the second video are poor and unfortunately they are serious in the first one.

Rick, Thanks for the insight and yes I now see the two videos in a slightly different light, but still believe that we need to direct our efforts towards showing why we should have same sex marriage. Yes humor can be an affective tool but for me the second video didn't seem to do much to move our cause along, but if it changed one persons perspective then it has value.

You're absolutely right and that's actually what's happening now. These videos are old news (Noah is a bit late to the game); they came out shortly after Proposition 8. Right now, there's a serious campaign underway in many states and nobody is making jokes. There's too much at stake.

Well, I hope no one revokes my gay card, but I DID find the parody pretty darn funny. (Tho I think it could use a little 'It's Raining Men' soundtrack near the end.
