I am curious about the New York Bondage Club and have investigated their website at

I hope to get into New York on a Sunday evening in the next few weeks to check out one of their weekly meetings. Consequently, I would appreciate any information, advice, suggestions, caveats, etc. regarding attending such a gathering. Feel free to share any experiences both pro and con.

I've been a member for many years and drop in from time to time. It can be a hot scene or dull, depending on the mix of guys who turn out. If you're mainly into watching, there is always something interesting to watch. If you want to get into a scene, it will depend on your own social skills to negotiate some action with one or more other guys. There are frequently multiple scenes going on in multiple spaces, but the "main stage" is usually occupied by Phen, known as 'The Tai That Binds' and his favorite playmates.

 

The nice thing is that the current location is a large, relatively clean, safe space, with plenty of available equipment for playing around, and the presence of guys circulating and watching means that safety is the byword there. You can get into any kind of bondage/SM scene you want (except for sexual intercourse), and the presence of lots of spectators will usually ensure that things don't get out of hand, so you can feel pretty secure about that.

 

On the other hand, if you don't like lots of spectators when engaging in bondage games, you may find the scene off-putting.

As a brief update I did attend the “meeting” this past Sunday and did so simply to observe. The proceedings were more or less as usman2 described.

 

I spoke with Phen (who seemed like a really nice guy) who was simply taking photos and also briefly with Brian (another exceptionally personable and extremely knowledgeable individual) who choreographed a couple of hot scenes that more or less saved the day. I hate to describe the events more fully as what I experienced may or may not be typical. I hope to attend another meeting this Sunday and will give a further update if warranted.

Just a brief addendum to my above post as I forgot to mention that in order to gain admission, instead of asking for an ID, the staff member in charge of the door made me show him my dick in order to gain entrance… something about some City ordinance that needed to be enforced... and if you believe that!

Well, I made my second visit to the NYBC… again as a fully clothed voyeur… and there seemed to be a bit more activity this week. Phen is extremely knowledgeable regarding the use of not only rope (I quipped that he really must have paid attention as a boy scout), but all the implements of the trade. After his main scene was completed where a guy was suspended and worked over, he gave some instructions to a budding “master” by the name of Avery… especially interesting were his exhibitions of the use of a whip (where he demonstrated how each has its own individual personality, as opposed to multi-tailed floggers that are not as personality–sensitive). It proved to be a valuable learning experience. Again there were some hot scenes… the finale being figuratively a hot scene where a guy who had been humiliated all evening was literally given the hot treatment courtesy of a dripping candle.

 

Unfortunately there was a minor bump along the way as one individual who volunteered for a demonstration concerning the use of rope, passed out temporarily and was quite shaken up over the incident… and even before anything significant was done. I did get him some water, tried to calm him, and discussed the need to gradually find a comfort zone. He seemed like a really nice guy who just was simply overwhelmed by the whole situation. After all, not all of us are geared to make spectacles of ourselves in a public environment. Also, the fact that he was hooded (see my comments in a different thread) probably contributed to his feelings of uncertainty and apprehension. As I said he appeared to be a genuinely good guy. I am not sure if he monitors this board, but I wish him well as he explores and expands his limits.

Wow! I've been there several times over the years - through four different locations - and have never seen somebody pass out. Although the hottest scene I ever had there with Phen, which was quite a few years ago, almost had me passing out. It was a great scene - Phen did exactly what we discussed - but it turned out that being gut-punched (lightly, but persistently) while tied up standing and having my dicked worked over made me light-headed enough that as soon as I was untied I had to sit for quite a while to revive my equilibrium.

Actually as I implied nothing of consequence was even done. The guy was in a standing position up against a board that was placed against the wall and the ropes were very loosely applied as Phen was demonstrating how not to cut off circulation and still keep the “victim” securely bound. The individual had expressed concern over that fact that he did not want too much pressure on one of his arms due to a past injury and the ropes were appropriately loosened. Still, as I said he was hooded and possibly that added to a sense of anxiety, not to mention that it might have affected his ability to breathe properly. So while the incident could have been triggered totally by something psychological, I would not be surprised if there might be an underlying medical situation that could have elicited the reaction.

 

What was a bit paradoxical concerned the fact that the guy was in great shape and had a nice muscular torso that exuded a sense of toughness. I was a bit concerned regarding the fact that he had to drive home and had to go through a tunnel and over a bridge to get there. At any rate, I wish him all the best as he seemed like a truly good person... an overall really nice guy.

Went to NYBG this evening and not much was happening. I guess it was deep in the summer doldrums. But then I got bored and left at about 8:15, so it's possible things got more interesting later. Some interesting looking guys were coming in as I was going out.... If anyone else was there, please chime in about your experiences. Thanks.

Interestingly, the two weeks that I was present I did not arrive until approximately 8:00 PM. At that time the big scene of the evening as choreographed by either Phen or Bryan on the main staging area was approaching its dénouement. After that things were more or less hit or miss depending on the crowd. Still, and as I did note above, there was a very intense scene involving the use of wax that brought the evening to a rousing close the second time I attended.

 

Amusingly, on both evenings I thought that by arriving earlier the action would have been more exciting... but that seems not necessarily always to be the case. I guess it is an instance of one constantly thinking that the grass is always greener on the other side...

Paid a visit to NYBC last night, when they were celebrating their anniversary in the new space (Paddles on W. 26 Street). In honor of the occasion, there was free pizza and champagne.

 

By 8:30 pm, there were 4 simultaneous bondage scenes going on of various degrees of hotness. Phen and Bryan were working over a newbie on the bondage table in the main space, another guy was doing a suspension scene, and there were two other bondage scenes going on, one in the balcony and one in the backroom with the big ceiling mirror. There was also, as usual, one guy faithful to the name of the place who had draped himself over a wooden stand in a dark corner and was getting the devil paddled out of his rear end by a bunch of eager volunteers.

 

There was a big turn-out. What is interesting to observe is that people visiting NYC from out of town show up to find out what the scene is about, and if there is a young hunky number among them, Bryan will usually chat him up into doing a scene. Last night, there were three hot young guys -- probably college friends in NYC on winter break -- one of whom seems to have arrived eager for his first bondage experience, and his two friends were basically along for moral support. The willing victim offered himself over to Bryan who, with some assistance from Phen, put him through a real limit-stretching experience which he seemed to enjoy greatly. As soon as he was tied down to the table, blindfolded, his cock rose up in majestic erection without even being touched -- that's how excited he was. He had asked for lots of pictures, so Phen was busy shooting away from all angles. I expect there will be many to see on the website by next week. NYBG is officially a "no sexual intercourse" venue, but the bondage scenes usually end with the victim shooting a big load as a result of hand manipulation by the top...

 

Attendance varies from week to week and takes a dip during the summer. College winter break seems to produce lots of young (late teen through 20-somthing) out-of-town tourists, some quite eager to play. I expect next Sunday night may be similarly intense...

Uwsman2… Thanks for the update! Your vivid description of the action is not only much appreciated but has given me an incentive to try and attend a meeting later this month… in spite of the caveat that attendance and goings-on vary from week to week.

 

Now as far as JT is concerned, I am stunned by this sudden interest in not only the fetish forum but the NYBC as well. Perhaps he is he a closet S&M bottom craving to be strung up and worked over? If so I think it would be interesting to see the infamous JT in action. So JT please let us know if and when you might be attending a meeting… I am sure that there would be quite a few fellow posters who would enjoy seeing you enjoying the “pleasures” of S&M. Besides, there is at least one escort who will be visiting the NYC area in the next few weeks (no prize for guessing his name) who would positively relish the prospect of getting personally involved in such a scene.
