I thought I'd drop in and give you guys a "Spy Report" (thanks, Ron & Fez) about the newly remodeled Secrets club in Washington DC.

I visited last night after only a three-week break, and I was very surprised to discover that the place had been remodeled while I was gone.

Here are the changes I noticed:

- The back wall of the bar has been moved back about 20-feet and replaced with a glass-walled shower running the full width of the room.

- The original bar was replaced with a U-shaped bar providing about three times the counter space. A bank of video monitors (each one showing a different porn video) sat above all three sides of the bar.

- The one-man stage that used to be just inside the door was removed and replaced with a floor to ceiling mirror.

- The elevated T-shaped stage that dominated the room was removed and replaced by two smaller stages; a two-man stage in the center of the room, and a bigger stage against a mirrored wall opposite the shower.

- A new DJ booth had been built in a high alcove overlooking the floor (there was a DJ in the booth spinning tunes when I arrived).

- The original small side stage was still there, apparently unchanged.

The place was extremely crowded, and there seemed to be more women there than usual (with considering the lately increased female presence). The crowd also seemed a little younger—I spent almost as much time watching the crowd as I did watching the dancers.

At one point during my visit, two guys walked into the shower and spent the next fifteen minutes soaping and scrubbing each other; It was a huge crowd-pleaser, and most of the room turned to watch the show. The guys in the shower played the crowd, and one of them was surprised by a loud round of applause afterwards. He got a big laugh when he then took a big stage bow and walked off.

After so many years with no significant changes, I was a little surprised by the changes. It is obviously an improvement in many ways, but it will take time to see what affect it will have on the ambiance of the club. The place now seems a little glossier than before and a little less raunchy; I'm not sure if that will turn out to be a good thing or not.

I saw the newly remodeled Secrets last night, and I agree that the changes to the bar and stages and the addition of the shower and DJ booth are positive. And the cover is still (only) $10.00.

The bar should be able to hold a few more people now before it's too crowded to walk around.

Who are your favorite dancers there? Who give a good private?

Removing the big central stage freed up a lot of room, but I think it's going to make it more difficult, since now most of the available space is now on the new bar; I think there are going to be a lot spilled bottles and knocked-over glasses until everyone gets used to the new system.

My current favorite dancer is a guy who calls himself Bumper, a short, dark-haired young guy. There is also one porn star, a tall muscular guy with a sizable uncut tool, who is quite nice and very friendly. Unfortunately, I can't remember his name right now (too much vodka and cranberry juice tonight!).

I've never done a private with any the guys there, so I can't comment on that.

It's up to the dancer, but most of them take it all off (except for their socks).

Inappropriate touching is officially disallowed, but some of the dancers will let you get away with a lot if you tip well and there's no one watching. :)

Unfortunately, there is no place place in any of the clubs for lap dances.

I am headed to DC next week and have decided to add a stop at Secrets to my trip. Thanks for the info.

There was a visiting Dancer at Southern Decadence in New Orleans named Robert that said Secrets is were he normally dances. Do you know if he is still there and anything else about him?

>Hoover and Baltimore: Thanks for the info on Secrets! I had

>almost forgotten about the place. What I didn't know was that

>privates could occur between sets. You mentioned the Follies,

>of which I am familiar, but what is the Glory Hole? That

>place I am not familiar with. Thanks again!

Located at 24 O Street SE, I believe the actual name of the place is Glorious Health and Amusements, but it's usually (appropriately) referred to as the Glory Hole. The place is full of stalls (and very little else) with holes positioned at the right height for giving and getting head. There is a cover charge but I'm not sure what it is, somewhere between $15 and $20 I think.

Cursed as I am by a finicky nature, even given my preferences, I find the GH unpleasantly raunchy. However, it's definitely an interesting place to visit at least once if you're not offended by strong odors or unsanitary conditions.

Go after the bars close and you'll find it packed to the gills.

Jeffrey looks like a bad boy!! Several dancers are of more than passing interest to me. }( Looks like a visit is called for. Is there safe parking in the area?

RE: parking at Secrets

re: parking

Street parking is fairly safe if you can park within sight of the entrance. Street people may hassle you for "tips."

If you arrive around opening time, 9 p.m., you should be able to park near the entrance. I have been parking there for 8 years without incident, but have heard horror stories about muggings and broken car windows.

You can take a taxi here. Return taxis are always waiting next door at Glory Hole and Follies.

RE: parking at Secrets

I use to park there as well with no incident. One of the main police stations is right around the corner. It looks like a terrible depressed neighborhood but I still went there and didn't have any problems. There will be some guys out front who will offer to protect your car for money. I never paid. Park around lights or near the front of either Secret's Ziegfieldss or the other places close by its also not to far from Metro Navy Yard terminal or the Bus line and as you have heard Taxi's are there. Go and check it out and also the Drag shows are worth it as well I use to love to walk between the two I dont know if the door that connects is still there but was fun. HUGS Chuck. Back to my days at the NAVY Yard and living in ALexandria:9

I was able to visit Secrets on Sunday and Thursday during my trip to DC. I had a great time, nice club in appearance and otherwise. Thursday DC Chandler was there. Even though he does not do privates he was very friendly and with a couple of good tips he can over to see me during one of his 20 minute breaks. He stood close between my legs and encouraged me to be very friendly with what he had between his legs. On Thursday a buff Brazilian dancer who had 9+ uncut inches wanted my hotel info when he found out I was from out of town. I told him I had to catch a plane in the morning. He offered to see me after he got off. After talking more and teasing me a bit I figured I could always sleep on the plane. Good time, no details but I will remind everyone I am a Top. Rough neighborhood but I didn't have any problems and I had a rental car I had to park. Thanks for the info about this place.

I agree DC Chandler was not there last Thursday: I would remember. He is hot. I asked him a few months ago if he escorted, and he said no. But of course that could have been a "chemistry" issue. Later I saw him listed on an escort website and immediately called the number. Unfortunately, the number was "boys next door" and, as apparently is required by their business plan, they did not call back.
