The show improved significantly through the weekend.

 

A few random comments:

 

Agree that most of the guys are "gay for pay". I personally am very turned off when I see guys I might otherwise be interested in negotiating (or even worse kissing when they wouldn't kiss a guy) with female patrons. If they want to see women on their own time (and not in front of me), that's their business. But to do it in our faces is just bad business sense. Sure, they score a private show or maybe an overnight. But enough patrons are turned off by this trend that the guys should pay some attention. Perhaps this is one of the many reasons why business is slower now than in the past (of course, the economy, the impending war, etc. also play large parts).

 

Lineup Comments:

 

Antonio, looks great, added some muscle. It's nice to find someone who seems to enjoy being on stage, putting on a show. Antonio has a friendly personality and it's a pleasure to see a polite guy who actually thanks each patron for their tips, even if it's a dollar.

 

Ray, looked really good. I liked his blond highlights. He even danced a bit this time. I felt that his show Saturday afternoon was the best show he's done in a long long time. Always very friendly with the audience.

 

Jordan, vastly improved show. In the past, I had felt his show was very intense and he looked very unhappy to be on stage. This time, he didn't smile all that much, but he did show off his butt a lot and actually seemed to be having a better time. I thought he had put on a little extra muscle and was looking good.

 

Tino Lopez, great tan, he looked the best I've seen him look. Has definitely been hitting the gym harder than in the past.

 

Erik, very hot performer, I find him very sexy.

The last time I was there I got treated to seeing Tino Lopez spend some quality time smooching with a woman on the little seat thats right in front of the open bathroom. I thought about it for a minute and then said what the fuck and did my business. I'm sure she was too busy talking to Tino to notice.

 

I didn't think much about it at the time and it just occurred to me now, that I am less likely to hire the guy. I don't think any less of him I'm just not as interested. Sure I found another guy to hire. I wonder if tha dancers are aware on how much self-confidence it takes to get someone to hire. I have spoken to men at the Gaiety who claim to have been coming for 20 yrs and have never done a private show. Anything that discourages customers from hiring should be avoided if only from a business sense.

 

I'm not kidding myself to think hiring a guy has anything to do with what he is really like. A good escorts task is creating an opportunity for me (and hopefully him) to get off. No illusions that is what he would prefer to be doing.

 

In a way this kind of speaks to the same topic Will posted about in the Lounge. For me at least there are things that can make a fun time more likely (friendly, smart, have something about themselves I can relate to). And it appears there are things an escort can do to make it less likely to have fun.

 

Have any of you guys ever discussed this kind of thing with Gaiety dancers?

These guys are there to make money. A lot of the gay guys sit near the stage and never tip. As duke points out, many of them never hire. SO it seems to me that the dancer should go where the honey is!

I did speak to Antonio once on my opinion that dancers should not play up to the women in the audience when they are dancing. (He does not.)

But when some cash is layed out to get laid, he should say no because someone who isn't even going to hire him doesn't like it?

And as for the dancers kissing women in front of other customers, or bringing their girlfriends along to the show, I say no. It is still a place for gay men to have a fantasy.

But then, some men fantasize about how they got that straight guy to ....

This question has been discussed many times before on this board. At one point, I even went up to dancers and told them how the male patrons felt about the attention they were giving to female patrons. MOST do not cater to the women in attendance... When I see Antonio on Monday, I'll inform him of this concern... Personally, I feel very uncomfortable going up to a dancer, who's there with a female companion/client, and asking him for a private... Like the others, I'll avoid dancers who pay more attention to women while at the G and refuse to tip them. If we all did this, it would be a strong message of disapproval sent to them.

 

The Gaiety is a place where gay men can go and feel comfortable in their surroundings. I would hate to see it become a place where I have to compete with women for a dancer's attention... This issue must also be difficult on these "G4P" types who try to look macho in front of the "ladies". Coop

It seems that you know more about Aiden than your letting on. Yes, he's from the same Hudson Valley town as Louie and Tommy... Aiden never seems to find more than 1 day to dance at the G. The first time he performed, I wanted to do a private with him, but he was still walking around with his suitcase and didn't have a place to "perform"... We exchange #'s, and spoke on the phone, but nothing every materialized... Aiden has been working out a lot and it shows. He's good looking, with a defined muscular build. He puts on an above average lively stage show and, boy! does he sweat... Aiden will have to work on his "lounge approach". He knows me, yet on Friday, he walked by without any recognition... I really appreciate your comments. Yes I do know more about him than I let on ... although I really have never seen him. He's part of a group of dancers that discovered "The Gaiety" from the Hudson Valley. From the sound of things, he is probably overusing steroids. Actually, knowing what I know, it seems that these young guys all have a similar path thusfar ... high school drop outs or ex-jocks with no direction who are exploiting their bodies to support recreational drug use. Their way out of small town Orange County is to dance nude in the city; otherwise, they're stuck there forever.

 

It's always a fine line as to whether or not the use crosses the line into abuse. I tend to like toned young looking guys ... not too big ... Louie has a nice body as far as I'm concerned, but I wasn't thrilled there either. It seems like Aiden may be too big for my liking although I am curious to meet him in person. Do you know if he has a website or cell number? Thanks again.

I decided to skip the show this week. I do,nt think I missed

much. I did however go to Stellas and meet this really hot

looking escort named Corry. I had much more fun there then I

would of at the Gaiety. Corry tryed very hard to get me to do

Ray can be very friendly in the lounge, but he is an aggressive hustler. He is not very interactive in private, and he books a lot of privates, so there will be a knock on the door after 10 minutes and he will rush you to get to his next client. Tyler also books his appointments close together, so there is always someone at the door.
