I'll be happy to take the IP challenge. While I can be "quarrelsome" I've never considered myself in first place. Usually I feel like I am in last place :-(

I do agree that some posters do use several screen names. There is someone who posted in the Street Hustlers forum a new thread then went on to respond to himself, now that is strange }>

I suspect that a lot of people using the Message Center post under several names. This is based on similarities of style, types of subjects that set them off and -- thanks to the ratings section -- who rates whom. Here are some of my guesses of the Eves among us. What are yours?

Cassius/Pickwick/Regulation certainly seem the same to me. I know that some people think that TruthTeller is the newest incarnation of this particular nexus, although his posts seem angrier and more sarcastic than C/P/R's. And I don't think that TT is a lipstick lesbian, although one of my spies claims to have seen him at the cosmetics counter in Woolworth's picking up a tube of Tangee orange.

I also think that it is entirely possible that Phage is the kinder, gentler version of Fin Fang Foom, who has never quite recovered from Zach DC's post.

And I congratulate IM_Moore on retiring the quarrelsome FirstPlace.

BUT no matter what anyone says, I will never never never believe that Beware of Nick and Anthony Holloway are the same person. }>

No I can't. I can click on it, but the function is disabled for "the general public". HooBoy can know, but of course he won't click-and-tell.

I always feel a little flattered, and I'm sure others must too, by this kind of post. To think that my voice is so unique that I don't think anyone has ever accused me of being a multiple personality. Not that I am, mind you. "That kind of a bear."

Same here. :9

I do have another ID. I don't use it to post, I use it to test board features to see what non-moderators see. It's been helpful in debugging the new software.

I keep bugging Daddy to give me the IP logs so I can analyze the raw data. It's what I do for a living and I have the tools to do it well and quickly. Oh well.

I have a list of about a dozen ID's I'd love to scrutinize from the IP addy logs, but I guess that'll never happen. (And no, Bilbo is not one of them.)

You are right. I work for a big isp and have a lot of random class-c and class-b ip addresses... i can take any "free" ip i want and do the post. I have also access at a lot of pc at universities/companies and i can use those pcs as proxys. So who can say for sure that i dont have a multiple personality already ? Ok i dont have but do every one in here believe my words ?

Do we trust each other ? I believe its about motives. Who needs more than one account ?

I am sure the "multiples" exist. Some by accident, some by design. I review and post under different names... sheerly by accident. Too late to change now. Some have changed names for personal reasons... like DCescortboy Ethan (whom I really miss even though he was erratic sometimes), who now goes by MostHatedEscort. And I am sure some talk to themselves under different names! The beauty of the anonymous internet!

Interesting. I’m very curious as to why you would think FFF and I am the same person. I guess I did start posting about the time that he was suffering the board’s righteous indignation for his use of the word “whore” to describe some our favorite people in the world. Other than that, I don’t see it. I’m confident that he truly is from New York City, and likewise, I’m confident that I am in San Diego considering a relo to NYC. Maybe that’s it…think he was fishing for a good neighborhood or trying to find out where others lived in the City? Surely you don’t think he is concerned about his friends and family trying to push him into couplehood? (My latest mundane post.)

Regardless of the reasons…I’m kind of flattered. I have to admit I’m kind of a Fin Fang Foom Fan. He may not be the kindest guy in the world, but I’m one of those people who value intelligence more than a sweet disposition. Just as I’ll put up with bad behavior from truly talented people, I will also overlook a few outbursts from an interesting person with a disciplined mind. Call me sick that way. Some of my favorite people on this board are the “bad boys.” Their opinions may not always be popular, but damn it, they have well thought out positions and wicked senses of humor.

And come on guys…don’t you love it when two of these “bad boys” disagree on something and it turns into a total throw down? I just sit back and WISH I could write like that!

The fact is I did have another screen name when I first found this website but changed to this one for the simple reason that I let the old one lie dormant for so long it no longer worked.

People who bring up the "multiple personality" accusation always seem to do it in connection with posters who disagree with their opinions. For some reason it isn't enough for these people simply to register their disagreement with whatever is posted. They have to try to diminish the validity of others' opinions by pretending they all belong to the same person. This petty, mean-spirited behavior is often exhibited by the very same people who complain endlessly about negative behavior in others.

FWIW, I only have one screen name here. Of course I try to avoid the cat fights on this board, so I think I stay below the radar anyway. ;-)

I am honored!! I have given some thought to establishing another name for posting and leaving this name to Nick updates. However, I have decided against it based on the simple fact that I abhor the use of multiple names and those whi employ them for less than forthright purposes.

Honorably yours,

FFF

I mean BoN :)
