I like the idea of the last login feature you have. Too many websites have old or expired ads. I will say though, you should probably have a requirement that the escort has to have at least logged into his ad in the past 3 months. I have seen some ads where the escort has never logged in and I suspect the escort is inactive.

 

One other nice thing is to make the escort fill in something for "I get into" and "I am available for" questions you have on the site. Some escorts have so little information you have no idea what they are offering.

That's so cool to see you posting here (and welcome, btw). Personally, I've been frustrated by the other 2 popular pay sites (esp. in the customer service area) so it's great to see that you're looking for input. I already emailed you guys and asked for the ability to post travel cities, and you added that function pretty quickly. I was impressed, because I was expecting to get blown off, as is usual with the others.

 

Personally, my only current suggestion would be to change the name of the site to RentRick.com, but other than that, I'm good for now...

Although I signed up a while ago at your site, yesterday and an hour ago were the first times that I have spent considerable time pursuing what you have. I like the site very much and will be hiring from some of the ads that are posted.

Since day one i have been a big fan of your site it is easy to use for escorts and clients alike i hope it stays that way

my only suggestion is keep it simple

it seems like these pay escort sites get so disconnected from there advertisers and the almighty euro/dollar becomes king and suddenly you are lucky to get a response to an email that is not automated and snotty.

one such site that just did a big update really screwed up there site and do you think they give a shit if anyone likes it or not.

 

RENTMEN i hope will dominate the escorts sites as the best site and most used site by both clients and escorts .

i really appreciate the fact that rentmen really gives a shit about the business of escorts and clients.

 

the other site is now inundated with advertisements that blink all over the screen and then to make matters worse a slow and bunk server that wont load pictures or allow escorts to check out with out having to click on a disclaimer page way too much (paranoid i think) is just a mess and really screwed up.

the amount of inquiry i get from that site has decreased about 70%

since the new site launched every request for information i have sent every phone call i have made to that site i get a recording and never a response to my requests for information anymore.

Please please please dont let this happen to Rentmen

in time you will be the number one site used by all and looked to to be the example of a good escort site.

unfortunately here is a tech limit to make view all possible

especially if there are hundred's profiles in your search result

this will put huge load on our servers all at ones and will slow down the site.

we did the a balanced solution here 16 profile per page

 

btw another website, charging the guys 300$ for front page did exactly this..and you can see the result .. every 3rd picture does not come up.. but they can make more 300 front page guys ;-)

As a matter of personal preference I do NOT care for web sites that use dark/black backgrounds. I simple find light backgrounds with dark text easier to read and more esthetically pleasing.

 

I signed up for your site this afternoon eventhough I was not overly thrilled with the ideas of having to fill out a profile. Even with a username I don't like the idea of having a profile available on the web. When I set up an appointment with an escort I always provide him with a self description and as far as I'm concerned that should be sufficient.

Maybe you should consider allow the user to select a "theme" from several available ones. Then they could have the colors they want from a controlled set of themes tha you have on the site.

 

This is just a matter of having the color schemes set up in the stylesheet for the site. Since you have people registering, then their profile could include their chosen theme.

I appreciate your asking for comments about the site. I found your site a few months back when David in SF made mention of it in the forums. I checked it out and did sign up for a profile. Though I must admit I'm not one for such things though it's understandable why you need such for your site.

 

Overall, I like the site very much especially when compared to Rentboy and Men4Rent. First, it loads very quickly in comparison. Half the time Rentboy's photos take for ever to download. My popup bocker goes into overdrive on M4R and its not just due to the way the photo's load. Please refrain from ever taking pop up ads on your site.

 

I like how your home page displays nearly 20 guys from various locations rather than just one "boy of the day." How do these guys get chosen to be on the main page, is it log in activity? Also your advanced search feature beats the competition hands down.

 

Then all those video links below that is very cool. Though it does seem as if some guys get lot more play than others. I assume that's due to just how many have uploaded the interviews and various other videos. No doubt about it, David in SF has some very hot vids.

 

However, I'm not interested in paying a monthly fee to view longer clips. Its just not something I'd even consider for two reasons. One is credit card information even though I'm sure you use a very secure provider. Secondly, why pay for a monthly subscription, even to Sean Cody or Corbin Fisher, when there's a hell of a lot of free content out there such as Xtube or YouPorn.

 

The last login in feature is very nice, it's a way to tell just how active an escort is in the business. I'm not going to waste my time on a guy who's not logged in in six months or a year.

 

Having the photos scroll across the top of the escort listing is very nice. Keeps the profile info up and available rather than getting lost as one moves through the pics.

 

I'd suggest you find a better way to highlight the traveling guys. Right now it's easy to miss that they are in certain cities over various dates. Perhaps a suitcase icon or something would help in addition to the bright green text.

 

I hope your site continues to improve and that traffic contiues to build. I do find I'm checking it regularly for the new faces that keep getting added. Best of luck on this endeavor.

Noted about the travel cities option, I like the suitcase icon suggestion, Jay and I will discuss. Actually we did mention to each other that travel cities needs to be clearer in the profile and preview thumbnails. We moved that option into production quickly for Rick Munroe.

 

To hear your overall satisfaction with multiple features is great - you picked up on the fact that the pictures scroll and enlarge without taking you out of the profile and into a NETHERLAND OF ADS and FLASHING temtations to OTHER ESCORTS AND HOOK UP SITES like our competitors. We just don't get that - other than the obvious advertising/promotion deals they have worked to boost their bottom line - but why within profile views? We both pledge not to loose our focus on our core purpose - serving a community. Oops... I digress

This may seem like a dumb suggestion, but I think some people might be too computer illiterate to realize that the photos scroll. Maybe a little note beneath that says, "Roll cursor across pics to scroll"?

A big part of the videos on RentMen are free and you don't need to pay to see them or to use other site feature. You are absolutely correct, porn you can find free everywhere and I understand your point. Fortunately many of our members are donating the 9.95/month. Otherwise we wouldn't be able to survive the growing demand and keep the site clean of junk and flashy banners. Rentmen may not be as big as the other two players but data traffic is 11-14 times higher then the rest of the sites in the escort business. (4 TB/month as for July 2008 )

Great work. Some suggestions:

 

on photo tab, the escort name appears above the photo...is there any chance to make that name or the photo link to the escorts profile? If you see something hot on the photo page, it would be nice to go right to the ad.

 

on searching feature, searching a whole state instead of city by city would be useful - especially for states with just a handful of escorts spread over multiple cities

 

just like you provide a place for the escort to put their website URL, allow them an extra URL to link to a review site

 

and the ever important stat question - smoking status
