>I'm out of the loop on this one -- haven't had a tv set sinced 1959.<

Wet, that's so good to hear. I did away with the plug in drug myself a few years ago. I still have a set that I use as a monitor for the VCR, but I find myself to be far more productive without recieving a braodcast signal. Still, television is so ubiquitous it's impossible to avoid altogether (especially for those who seem to spend half their lives in hotel rooms.) Over the years I've been slave to shitloads of programming. Some favorites include:

Mr. Show with Bob and Dave

The Larry Sanders Show

Mystery Science Theater 3000

Kids in the Hall

Alfred Hitchcock Presents

Inside the Actors Studio

Get Smart

Law and Order (the Noth-Orbach years)

Outer Limits

James Burkes' Connections

Wild Wild West

The Simpsons (of the early nineties)

MTV's Liquid Television

Davey and Goliath

Jeopardy

>You don't have anything better to do in those hotel rooms?<

Deej, the depressing truth of the matter is that once the clients leave, returning home to their happy lives in their happy homes in their happy suburbs, all we escorts have is an empty room in a strange town with naught to keep us company but the sad glow of a television set and our crumbling dreams, bursting to life once again only when the phone rings, chiming it's promise of someone in need of our prescence.

Tragic, ain't it? ;-)

Knots Landing -- The difinitive soap. Loved it in the 80s; been watching reruns on SoapNet. In today's episode Karen married that creep, Mac. And I remember her in "Seesaw" on Broadway. Jeez...

Other faves:

* "Jamie" starring Brandon DeWilde

* "Lassie," the original with Tommy Rettig

(Those were the 2 guys i fantasized about when I was a little tyke beating off.)

also:

* SNL, season one

* Kids in the Hall

* Big Brother 2 (Will should win)

I actually knew Tommy Rettig in his later years. TOTAL sweetheart!

No idea about his sexual leanings, but he was a doll and some of the hugs he gave me over the years I knew him were (I think) thinly disguised excuses for a grope.

His death was VERY upsetting to me.

An old boyfriend once accused me of being willing to watch the absolute worst TV airing if there was a possibility that I would see a male bellybutton or nipple. The accusation was accurate! Here were/are some of my favorites:

Wild, Wild West

Rifleman

Rat Patrol (god, I loved that show)

Flipper

Route 66

Dynasty (with Al Corley as Steven. whatever happened to him?)

thirtysomething (I loved Michael)

Ben Casey

Coronet Blue

The Fugitive

And I will also watch any I Love Lucy rerun for the rest of my life.

<...once the clients leave, returning home...>

Joey,

Now replace <clients> with <escort>, and you then know how other side feels, pretty much the same. Only you just made $200, and I just lost $200. Funny, that line that separates us seems to blur !!!

<Mister Roger's Neighborhood. My favorite episode is the one where King Friday fucks Lady Elaine Fairchild up the ass with his scepter after lighting meow meow pussycat on fire. Ahhh, childhood>

DAMM.... I wish we had cable in my trailer park when I grew up. We never saw the good episodes.

COPS...

However, I hope they don't allow it to be broadcast overseas. The rest of the world may get the wrong idea of us. Let it be our shameful little secret, lest they think we are all shirt-less, tatooed wife-beaters. "I didn't hit the bitch, officer, she stole the last pop-tart." What would they think in Ten-buck-two.

Namaste America...

Baliwood every Saturday at 9 am. Top music videos from Bombay, India. Puts US/Brit music videos to shame. Where else can you see 100 dancers doing hot dance routines (a la Michael Jackson or Madonna) to Indian pop songs, on top of a moving train.

I was just joking around, and I agree that the line blurs readily, but you don't really consider the money spent as being lost, do you? I know you're only kidding.

Careful with that wish, Deej, your phone may never stop ringing!

AB FAB

A friend of mine was in London some time ago. He took an organized Ab Fab tour. He saw the houses, the liquor store where Patsy lives, Cristian LaCroix, and so on.

Just wish I had cable. Love that show.

OOPS! threw it out!

like some other posters, i discarded my tv when it last broke. (more time to research and post pics, incidentally; WHACK!)

but if papi is still hanging around the hotel in the a.m., i make him shut up during re-runs of E.R. and sometimes, Law and Order. ok, i'll admit; sometimes, i turn the tv off and we have another go at it!

and i loved two series as a a little boy, whatever it was with Tab Hunter (recently deceased) on a houseboat and Buster Crabbe as Flash Gordon. because I can never resist:
