Real Versus Fake Reviews

This is a quote I took from one of the recent threads in the Deli section. More than once I have come across similar statements on the message board in the last two months. I DON'T AGREE with such an assessment but I'm curious as to how others (clients and escorts) come to their own conclusion? What criteria they use in determining whether a review is real or fake?

It may be true and it may not. Who can know for sure? The best verification HooBoy can do can be skirted.

 

Personally, I don't think there are that many fakes. There are some, I'm sure, but I don't think it's a majority.

 

I base my own opinion on personal experience. I've hired several guys based solely on reviews here, and my experience has rarely deviated from what was stated in the reviews. That doesn't make the reviews "non-fake" but if they were honest should I care if they were fake after a great experience?

 

I may have missed out on a few great experiences due to bad reviews, but should I take the risk to sample the "gene pool" of escorts? I'll leave that for someone else.

I do however give the MOST weight to any poster from the message board that I recogonize their name. Of course all that is thrown out the window when the escort post on the board himself, that says more than any review could ever tell me! ;-)

Absolutely correct. This site has awesome power, and for good reason. It is definitely frequented by a tremendous volume of customers with tremendous buying power. Escorts who stay in contact with me tell me that their email traffic explodes after a positive review here... but they still must deliver. Like anything else, you are only as good as your last John! LOL

 

For the customer, there is a wealth of information on here. You just have to spend the time to sort it out and analyze it. Basically, when I have hired off conclusions I have drawn from this site, I am nearing 100% positive experiences. Sometimes, my dick gets the better of me, and I hire cute, hot boys with no previous track record... and some are not so good and others are wonderful experiences! And I document those for others to enjoy in the future.

 

Bottom line... this site is both great entertainment and a fabulous resource. i agree with kevin 2. do not forget that a recent

review can help determine who is still escorting as the escort listing sites are always way out of date (i guess they want a large number of escorts listed to bring people to their site to get a bigger number of "hits" for advertisers, people to click on banners, buy videos, etc.).

recent reviews can give a better picture of want an escort is currently like as many use pictures that are up to a decade old, have incorrect ages (some escorts have had the same age listed for years) and what kind of current shape they are in (for example if a body builder type is in competition shape or has lost weight).

for people who travel, the recent reviews are a good source of current escorts. they can bring new guys to light, too.

Hoo is really right on with his assessment. Are there fakes? Sure, even though Hoo goes to considerable effort to weed them out. Are the fakes obvious? Some seem to be although it cannot be proven, others aren't. The PR review sticks out like a sore thumb - written by those whose physical attributes, whatever they are, obviously outweigh their intellectual attributes. Then there are the more subtle fakes. But almost all fakes are written by the FIRST TIME REVIEWER. That does not mean that he converse is true -- everyone must start as a first time reviewer, but I am skeptical of the FIRST-TIME, ONLY-TIME REVIEWER, the more so if it is negative. Does reviewer credibility increase with additional reviews? Certainly, but I have no use for those who only contribute negative reviews -- they have ZERO CREDIBILITY with me.

 

The most insidious fake review is that written to disparage the target. I never place much credibility in the first-time-review negative review. It is certainly possible that a negative experience will move someone to contribute who hasn't before and I would hope they would contribute. But as others have pointed out, credibility isn't automatically bestowed on reviewers but must be achieved through a track record, either in the reviews or on the message board. As with any negative review, the escort response is key to making an assessment of the negative review.

 

As Hoo says, the cream rises to the top over time. What makes this site work as well as it does are the repeat contributors to the reviews and message boards. I have never had a disappointment with any escort I engaged based on reviews and/or comments on this site. And that includes some first-time reviewer contributions as well.

 

Do your homework and read the reviews carefully. Is this process full-proof? No, little in life is -- but this site helps one to improve their odds significantly. This is a powerful site for the saavy consumer and it has benefited both sides of the equation.

 

I remember the time before I knew of this board. I was blind and ignorant and at the mercy of the escort. This board provided a bright light and shared knowledge that I would never want to be wthout again. That is why I support this site... it works for me. :-)

Why does this topic keep coming up over and over and over again? No one will ever know the real answer(is the review real or not) so it seems kind of like self flaggelation to obsess over it. One of the reasons is that this topic (and the every-popular "to tip or not to tip") keeps coming up is that there are many new people using the board. And the repeat subjects are ones that are of concern to a broad group of men. Another reasons is that once a person discovers the board he may not return to read it every day. Even well-worn topics can veer off into interesting directions.

 

The regulars (kind and patient guys one and all) have pointed out the warning signs of a fake review. Take heed -- and make u your own mind. This site is a great guidepost, but it wont keep you from getting lost from time to time.
