I going to meet an escort in April and have arranged everything via email; date, time, hotel, I guess my full name probably went along too. We've talked on the phone once. So, my question is...Did this novice screw up? I'm getting worried about the watchful law enforcement eyes.

If you're that worried, why not just ask him if he is affiliated with law enforcement in any way, or has any intention of using your information to contact the law. Do it via e-mail and preserve it in writing.

Was the escort reviewed here? Did you get any impression that he might not be above board?

Since when is a date with an escort against the law? If you did not discuss sex for $$$ in your e-mails, what's the problem? And even if you did, did you know the escort was a reputable one, for instance, someone reviewed on this site?

Also, dont know about the different laws in different states but in NY, law enforcement does not have to identify themselves if they are undercover. You can ask, but they can lie...its not illegal, nor do I that act constitutes entrapment.

That's probably more information than I'd give an escort for a first time meeting.

IMHO, just asking the guy if he's with law enforcement offers NO protection at all. I believe the police would lie through their ass to entrap you. (Perhaps an escort that has been snagged by the cops will confirm this.)

But, I agree with others about escorts on this site. If the escort has a positive reputation here then you're probably safe. But, I highly recommend setting up an e-mail account just for escort communication purposes (such as hotmail, Yahoo, etc). When setting up the account, ensure that your "real" name is not disclosed with outgoing messages.

If you still have serious doubts about your privacy and safety, cancel the appointment. You may have incriminated yourself with the e-mails but there's no proof you really intended to hire if you don't show up.

On the main Yahoo Mail screen click on Mail Options in the upper right corner.

On the Mail Options screen go to Personalization and click on General Preferences.

Delete or change the From name:.

Hope this helps.....
