How long should one wait?

Was in LA last weekend with a friend being a tourist and spent lots of time beforehand searching for an escort to make my trip complete. I was leaving on Thursday, and staying through Monday a.m., but due to commitments and plans, my windows for "play" were Friday afternoon, all of Saturday and Sunday a.m. On Monday, I emailed my first choice and asked if he would be around for the weekend. No response. Craziness at home prevented me from sending a query to my second choice. I left him a message upon my arrival on Thursday. No response.

I paged a third escort on Friday a.m. No response.

Here's the question: How long does one give an escort to respond? I don't want to page 3 guys and then have all three call...(like this would happen!) I was careful to leave complete information, area codes, room no., etc. I am honest and upfront with my messages.

Here is my script: "Hi! This is a message for xxx. I found your name on Hooboy's site and am hoping you are around this weekend. I am staying at the Standard, and the number there is xxx. Room xxx. Last name xxx. I am a nice guy, a pretty vanilla bottom and would love to talk with you. Thanks!"

Ended up coming home having had a great time, but no hook-up. WHat am I doing wrong? Do you have to plan way ahead for every quick encounter now?

Any number of factors could be at hand here. If you're paging them, I would move on after about three hours. Although there are instances of being indisposed for a couple of hours, such as being with a client or being at the movies or a play, it's basically the escort's job to answer his pages. It's his business. If you're using e-mail, any wait over 24 hours is rude. These days one can answer e-mail from just about anywhere, unless one is camping in the wilderness (not likely in December). Again, answering e-mail is part of the escort's business. If he's got "better things to do," he's not serious.

when traveling and there is limited time, i always book in advance to be sure i get the escort i want. contact about two weeks ahead should do it.

As already suggested, trying to contact the Escort a few weeks in advance is a good idea. Then I'd suggest If you don't get a reply in a few days try to contact them by phone if they post their #. If no reply move on to someone else.
