d.anders Posted Thursday at 10:33 PM Posted Thursday at 10:33 PM I could use a good laugh, and the preview looks very promising. If it's a major success, RuPaul could be the next "senior" version of Tyler Perry. thomas 1
BuffaloKyle Posted Friday at 01:42 AM Posted Friday at 01:42 AM I can't believe this is actually going to theaters before streaming. 😅
d.anders Posted Friday at 12:58 PM Author Posted Friday at 12:58 PM Adam Shankman is director. It's a major motion picture, with Universal Pictures sharing distribution. The writers have a popular queer comedy podcast. RuPaul loves to laugh, so the script had to pass his muster, assuming he's a tough critic of funny. I don't know about the rest of the country, but several theaters in NYC will be showing this film. I will be going with a friend who loves Drag Race.
+ sync Posted Friday at 03:31 PM Posted Friday at 03:31 PM Probably just a product of my advanced maturity, but I found the trailer rather silly. thomas, MikeBiDude and Danny-Darko 3

Reminds me of Airplane, the non-stop deadpan humor. Hope they made it work. I have always liked Ru Paul. His Insta can be pretty funny. https://www.instagram.com/p/DNV9QlwJhTo/ I watch a little bit of his drag race show, but for me it's not really "must see TV". I'm interested when they post what the budget was and see what critics think. thomas and Becket 2

I think I saw an interview where RuPaul says that is exactly what they were shooting for. He said he loved those 70's/80's movies because they made him howl. Edited Saturday at 07:41 PM by d.anders
Rod Hagen Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago I always feels sad when I see SMG. She never was able to get past the Buffy label. Same struggle Sally Field initially had with Gidget, though Sally Field, a much better actress, eventually did push past it. I love you Buf..Sarah! thomas 1
