I think all labels can be confusing.

In my opinion, it’s always best to discuss with any individual what they will, and what they will not, do in bed. 

On a date with any guy, I aim to be polite. If I’m unsure if we’ll play well together, I simply state upfront what I enjoy. Then I check that our wishes/desires are compatible.

Whose back did he injure, the bottom’s or his own? Not clear from the way you wrote it.
