Why do they smell like c*m?

I don’t know what’s the name of this tree/s, or flower, and please don’t judge me for being ignorant abt this but I came from another country, I just know that they bloom every spring season, but yeah, I also wanna know, why do they smell like somebody just jizzed all over the neighborhood or something? Why do they smell like that? I was expecting spring season to smell like flowery or perfumey or like sneezing like hell everywhere lol.

Lucky they're not ginkgo trees. Their smell is very foul and disagreeable.
