samhexum Posted April 10 Posted April 10 Lately every time I see a commercial for Botox or for plaque psoriasis, the narrator talks about deciding to use the medication because of their moderate to severe frown lines or plaque psoriasis. Have you ever used, or known anyone who has used, the phrase moderate to severe? Every time I see one of those commercials now I cringe even more than I normally would have because of how stupidly unrealistic the voiceover is. Just ranting a bit here… wsc, + SidewaysDM and marylander1940 2 1

Nue2thegame Posted April 10 Posted April 10 These are terms commonly used in the medical field and they have specific criteria for some conditions. So, yes, I’ve heard them used many times.

samhexum Posted Friday at 02:24 AM Author Posted Friday at 02:24 AM I think the only medical condition I haven't seen described as moderate to severe in a commercial is jock itch.
wsc Posted Friday at 06:00 PM Posted Friday at 06:00 PM On a subsequent visit to my doctor, he asked how I was doing with the medicine he'd prescribed on my previous visit. I told him I'd had the prescription filled but that after reading the patient information pamphlet, I decided not to take it. The doctor looked at me with a combination of curiosity and irritation and asked why. I told him I didn't care how many parentheses the warning puts around "rarely fatal," I'm not taking it. + SidewaysDM 1
