Apparently, I have also lived a sheltered life.  I'm disappointed that I don't remember Jim Bailey, what an amazing talent.

You had to be there. I doubt that anyone under 60 can immediately recognize the name and recall the talent. He was everywhere on TV in the 70's - and because he really did deliver the characters, far less OTT than, say, Charles Pierce, he was not perceived as a threatening gay. (Although according to a friend who did PA work for him, you kept your distance before he had his coffee)

Possibly you'd need to be over 65 as that's what I am. I also had to look up 'OTT' and Charles Pierce.

This is Charles Pierce. I can see the Bette Davis. But I can also readily envision Lauren Bacall.
