Does anyone see masseurs repeatedly because they enjoy the conversation, even if the skills of massage are lacking? I'm not referring to sessions where it gets down and dirty quickly under the guise of a massage session - that's not uncommon, but rather having a great connection with common interests, and continuing further conversation with future sessions.

How were you able to make such a connection during a massage.  Except when extras are involved, my head is buried in that face cradle and conversation with the masseur is relatively limited.  And even though I'm of a talkative nature, I enjoy the silence and the technique during the massage.  Since convo is limited, my connection with the masseur is much more tactile than intellectual.

I have had experience similar to yours with escorts.  The sex is ho-hum but the personal/emotional/intellectual connection is terrific.  I will definitely go back to an escort like that, hoping the sex will improve with familiarity and that connection.  Sometimes it does!

If you really like the masseur but not the massage, how about changing the focus of the massage session?  I don't mean making it an escort session (well, I don't JUST mean that), but what about asking for a foot massage or a back massage or something else specific?

If you have a good rapport, ask him if he'd like to hang out sometime and get lunch.
Make it clear that you enjoy his company and are not looking for off the clock massage.
I've become good friends with a couple of masseurs over the years. I no longer see them for massage, and no money is involved. We just like each other.  People make friends under all kinds of circumstances.
If he isn't interested, fair enough. At least you'll know that he just wants to work for you. That's fine too. There are many elements to good customer service. But if you choose to remain a customer, you should tell him what adjustments he needs to make to his massage more satisfying to you.
