When I grew up in San Diego, there weren't very many Ralph's supermarkets, but I thought it was horribly tacky that the obvious Jewish-hating owner of the chain would celebrate "food day" with samples galore every Yom Kippur. The day changes each year, but food day would change along with it.

WOW, I lived for several years in SD but never noticed that! But then again I never thought of going to a supermarket on a fast day. Meals for breaking fast are usually planed pre holiday to avoid thinking and being around food. I wonder if Ralph does similar during Ramadan?

My sister always goes to McDonalds on Yom Kippur,  since its fast food.

In college I used to go to Burger King as a rebellion about being sentenced to attending a yeshiva until I was paroled (for bad behavior) in the middle of fifth grade.
