after sexual encounter #4, Shane was not upset, but more disappointed and sad IMO. He wanted some emotional confirmation from Ilya, a goodbye kiss or hug?

I'd say being sad and disappointed made him upset. On a personal level-if I'm upset, something like disappointment or sadness is probably what led to it.

I watched the video of their reaction to episode six and they cleared up something I was curious about. When they first start fooling around at the cottage, they tell each other that they haven't been with anyone since their last time. It makes sense for Ilya to be saying that since he sleeps with women, but since Shane doesn't sleep with women and has only slept with Ilya, why would he have to say that? One of the guys in the video brought up that question and said somebody told him that in the books, Shane slept with at least one other guy and one of their listeners confirmed it during the video.

Hudson (and later Conner) With Gayle King:  Hudson:  "and jizzin' "  lol

That was great when Ayo Edebiri joined the interview with Connor.  I love her so much.  I immediately started brainstorming, Connor could join The Bear.  He has that energy.  Anyway, that was perfect, Gayle King got those two together

That said, Connor had a good interview with Seth Meyers tonight.  He was brilliant.   Coming back from commercial they played the tunnel scene with Moonlight Sonata playing.  The audience loved that.

I'm not a Gayle King fan, but I expected her to be the safest go-to interviewer that the Globes offered. Friend of Oprah, and CBS official and all that. After watching her YouTube video, I am surprised by the number of Hollywood folk who did not stop to talk in her booth. I assume the publicists and the stars have had it. No more meeting up with the Joan Rivers' types. It seems they're all being very selective these days.

Both Connor and Hudson do interviews in this video. I thought Connor did great, and Hudson failed. WTF was he thinking with all the swearing and cum talk? Tacky gay stereotype shit. Gayle was not having it.

This video is also interesting because it is unedited. It shows how the sauce is made. I had to chuckle at the hairdresser being obsessive over Gayle's hair, and after all that fussing, Gayle still never looked great.

François Arnaud was on CBS This Morning today. Gayle had another chance to tell her Heated Rivalry story.

Thinking about this story (and I haven’t seen the series) which I have mostly read about here, I think this is one of the great Cinderella tales reminiscent of old Hollywood.
Interviews with both actors reveal each was waiting tables 2 years ago, during a period when their acting careers were not going anywhere promising.

Then this opportUnity came around with an audition for a series by a Canadian company (Crave) to play characters in a gay film story. Hardly promising stuff for world stardom but as we know the rest is history.

For their sakes let’s hope the Cinderella dream continues. I guess the second season will determine whether it’s a flash in the pan or something more enduring.

I was at my Mom's tonight. We always watch TV. We love the British Who-Done-Its often on Masterpiece. I told her about Heated Rivalry, and how it was being talked about all over the place. I described it as going farther than the 1st season of Outlander with a lot of butts. She said had seen 'butts' before. I said that was all you saw. But that there was 'more' not shown. She then told me she had heard of it because Connor and Hudson had been on The View.

I said that some of the non-sex scenes had affected me emotionally-specifically when Shane came out to his parents. I did say that I don't she would like it because of the sex scenes. But that if she decided to watch, I couldn't watch it with her. Outlander, at least the first season-haven't gone beyond that yet, I wouldn't be able to watch that with her either.

So that brings up a question.  Are any of your parents or straight siblings, cousins, children , etc watching it? And if so, have y'all discussed it?

I don't think that's true.

I think with Seth Myers, Connor said he quit his diner job the day before he started filming the series, which was April 2025. He said his boss had recently given him a last warning. Connor was about to get fired before he quit. He also said he thought he would have to go back to waiting tables after the series stopped filming, because no one knew what was about to happen. Nothing quite like a hit, word-of-mouth show to change your life overnight.

Maybe The View Grand Dames just talked about the series-or maybe my Mom was mistaken. I'm still not watching it with her.

I was just looking it up. The series premiered in the UK on January 10th. I wonder if there are plans for Connor and Hudson to appear on Graham Norton. I'll bet with his penchant on double entendres, he'd love them as guests.

And Hudson said in an interview he had worked at the Old Spaghetti Factory in Toronto, a classic institution there. He confessed he wasn’t the greatest waiter but that he did manage his tables well. (I took that to mean he was attentive and gave great service). I’ve never dined there but it’s not known for haute cuisine.

Francois Arnaud was on Morning Joe a few minutes ago.  Nice interview.

Connor was on Today show.  Good but wrong choice of interviewer:

All four would be perfect for the show. I’ve been thinking about this. But unfortunately, I think Graham Norton is about to wrap up the season . I don’t think there’s many episodes left.

I've been to several old Old Spaghetti Factories or the very close to being an exact copy Spaghetti Warehouses over the years although the Warehouses in Dallas closed several years ago. I'm not saying they are the top Italian places in America. But really it's difficult to mess up spaghetti and meatballs. They're economical and give you a lot of food for the price.

A lot of food and spaghetti and meatballs does not make for haute cuisine, or even fine cuisine. But the outlet in Toronto is popular with people looking for a relatively cheep night out and a fun atmosphere.
I guess when Hudson was working there he would have given his clients some nice eye candy to go with the meal.

They were redacted.  He could tell you, but then he'd have to kill you.  So I'll tell you, but he still might decide he has to kill you.

I think that's what I said. Luckily for me, I don't require haute cuisine. I'm fine with chains as well as Mom and Pop establishments or even Chef Boyardee (I mix their single serving can of spaghetti with their single serving of beef raviolis -and sometimes add Vienna Sausages for an extra kick).

But you revealed what was redacted. Shouldn't @Rod Hagen be more furious with you than  with me? And speaking of redaction-why was it?

I don't know the Black anchor, but I appreciated his honest reluctance. When I heard he bothered to watch all six episodes, I was impressed. There are a surprising number of straight Black men blogging about the show on YouTube.

The Today Show had Connor stay for several segments, with various anchors. He got some nice air time, and I'm really impressed with the way he handles himself. It's nice to hear that he is tight with his mother. I was a bit surprised to hear that his father has not watched the show. I suspect the parents may be divorced, and Connor's favorite is not his father, but I'm guessing.

On one of the reels that piped up on YouTube, I remember him saying something about growing up in Texas but moving to LA with his mother. So I assumed his parents had separated.

I used to like Craig Melvin, but his interview attempt with Connor kinda sucked.
But Connor himself is shining right now through all of his publicity appearances. 💚
