It's wonderful that you have your own hens!! What breed of chickens do you have?

@Alabastrineasked me about my girls. I have four Rhode Island Reds. I started raising chickens when I was in elementary school but had to take a break due to work relocation etc. Last year it became clear I will be where I am for some time, so I started up again. I love taking care of them. And nothing beats your own eggs.

Anyone else have chickens?

I’ll be trying my hand at ducks this year. That will be a new experience.

I would love to see pictures of your chickens! I heard the coloring on the roosters is quite stunning. What breed of ducks were you thinking of trying? I had the good fortune to stumble across fresh duck eggs at a farmers market, they were luxurious. I don't have chickens since I live in an urban area, but when I retire (if)I hope to move somewhere with a little land.

@Alabastrine, do you have some cocks?

Much to my dismay, my life is cockless at the moment. Crying shame I know.
