I’m not going anywhere for a while because I’m saving my money for a future holiday  of a lifetime in the Gaza Strip the Riviera of the Middle East.

It has everything going for it. A lovely beach front, hotels with water views, a bit of excitement (flying bombs). What more do you want in a holiday destination?

I encourage others to think laterally and take a leaf out of my book.

I've read that Lebanon's coast was like a Middle East Riviera in the 1960s and 1970s, prior to all the warfare.  Would have been nice to see it back then.

Yes ... and Beirut was nicknamed "the Paris of the Middle East" for its culture, food, and international/cosmopolitan flair.Frankly I greatly prefer people from Beirut and environs to Parisians. And Baalbek was one of the most spectacular and enchanting arts venues on the planet. An incalculable loss to Lebanese and the world.
