Strosj7 Posted January 11 Posted January 11 Going to Vegas and considering staying at the Blue Moon resort. Has anyone stayed there and can provide their thoughts? I am looking for a place that doesn’t feel like a bathhouse. I am also considering staying at Caesar’s, but only if guests have free access to the infamous Qua spa - anyone know if it’s free for guests?
ManTouch Posted January 11 Posted January 11 Qua is not free for guests. It's currently $75 for a 3 hour pass. https://na.spatime.com/cqs89109/6009196/spa-service/service-item/7663811 Johnrom 1

curiousbynature12 Posted January 12 Posted January 12 Can you share more criteria you have for Vegas hotel recs such as: Budget Star level Casino vs no Casino Location preferences Activities of interest in Vegas The Cosmopolitan is my favorite hotel in Vegas especially the rooms/suites with balconies if you have a guest/hookup/partner with you. If I'm on a budget or don't want to stay in a Casino, I usually go for the Vdara. thomas 1
Johnrom Posted January 12 Posted January 12 If you want to avoid the tourists. Golden Nugget downtown is a very nice option. Downtown is a def a little grittier than the strip. But downtown has a cool hip vibe. Some of the hotels are dumpy downtown. But Golden Nugget has a great pool, excellent restaurants, nice rooms, and easy to maneuver. Great value too for nice accommodations!

No budget level here - going for my birthday same thing with star level - flexible Flexible on whether it has a casino, and location main activities of interest - finding a nice clothing optional spa, seeing some shows, potentially hiring

For outcall hiring or just hosting hookups, some hotels may require card access to get to the elevator. I remember The Venetian/ Palazzo had a person checking cards before getting to the elevators and Bellagio also required key cards for elevator access, so you may have to meet your guests in the lobby if you plan on hiring, but it's not issue getting them to your room/suite. For shows: I'd recommend using Visit Las Vegas for finding shows of interest during your trip, you can also cross-reference that with reviews on sites like Tripadvisor, though others who frequent Vegas on here may be able to share their recommendations and experiences. thomas 1

Really great intel! Thank you! The key card situation is not something I thought of before. I do love it when folks can come straight up to the room… Visit Las Vegas is great - thank you for sharing that!
+ sniper Posted January 13 Posted January 13 Most of the spas on the Strip are clothing optionsl(except the coed ones like Linq) but even when they are there are often some guys wearing shorts. If you are looking to play don't do it in front of those guys. Generally Mandalay Bay spa is fairly cruisy. And it's also very close to the airport. Heard good things about Bellagio spa but haven't been.

The first weekend, Venetian; the second, Bellagio (for a wedding). On the whole, for an elevated experience, my nod goes to the Venetian. Bellagio has nice (but VERY crowded) public spaces, but the rooms, while still good looking, are beginning to age - for example, the bride and groom's room literally had a sewage backup in their shower during their stay - which the management did nothing about regarding concessions or moving them - and I also had a strong septic odor near my room on the 25th floor. I think it's inevitable with aged, older, larger properties.

Alll of the best hotels on the stip charge have charged 'resort fees' for over a decade (which include the gym). It's Wynn, Caesars, Cosmo, Bellagio, RW, etc. Even the shitty hotels have daily resort fees now. You can't get away from it. MikeBiDude 1

The Wynn actually charges you PER VISIT to the gym. Strosj7 1

It was $20 or 25 a visit just for the gym. I’m a casino player so it got taken care of, but thought that was kind of cheap. Maybe they changed?

I remember pouring $400 into slot machines when the Monte Carlo was new in order to get a "great surprise gift". The gift? A flimsy plastic cord attachment for my slot card. So ended my quest forever of gambling money in Vegas to earn garbage. Re: the OP's ?, I love The Marriott in Summerlin, and Ellis Island just off-strip. EI looks like a complete dump on the exterior, but the rooms are Hilton quality.
PragueMen Posted January 15 Posted January 15 I didn’t even know Ellis island had a hotel. I thought they contracted with motel 6
+ nycman Posted January 16 Posted January 16 I’ve been a big Wynn fan since they opened. The rooms recently got a minor facelift. On many trips, I never leave the property. The Encore Spa can’t be beat. In truth I’ve seen very little action there, but the facilities and services are top notch. I prefer the Wynn rooms and they’re closer to the action than the Encore rooms. My second choice would probably be the Venetian / Palazzo. The rooms are some of the largest in Vegas. The Casio is fun. Not the best, but a solid second choice. I used to a big Bellagio fan, but the rooms are very dated. The casino is always crowed, and not in a good way. + Vegas_Millennial and Johnrom 2
jayjaycali Posted January 16 Posted January 16 (edited) Was hosted at Stratosphere. I guess it was renovated, so the rooms are basic but modern, a bit like Park MGM, but apparently can go for around $30 on off nights. Had to meet in the lobby since the elevators need key cards, but at least there's no one inspecting the cards like at Aria. Main drawback I guess is the location. totallybot Posted February 3 Posted February 3 OK, how about hotel recommendations for us frugal (cheap) folks? I'm not interested in spa, casino, gym, etc. Just a decent room walking distance to shows. I'm seeing hotels that charge about $100 a night but I suppose there are issues with them?
