mike carey Posted December 26, 2024 Posted December 26, 2024 It all seems to melt here - it's 36°C today (about 97 of those other ones). samhexum 1
MikeBiDude Posted December 26, 2024 Posted December 26, 2024 It’s my favorite every year, love it!!! 🌨️

mike carey Posted December 31, 2024 Posted December 31, 2024 С Новым Годом! (That's literally 'With the New Year' which is the Russian version.) Or as they would say in Kyiv, 'З новим роком!'

Moke Posted January 1 Posted January 1 How do you turn OFF the FUCKING confetti on this page? It's NYE, i get it. but this is so distracting I am logging off until it's not a holiday I guess. I would expect a festive animation to maybe last a few seconds, but this one will NOT STOP (Desktop). Cheers and happy 2025. musclestuduws and + JEC 2

Cheers and happy 2025. Wow, someone’s New Year’s resolution isn’t patience, I see. At least the confetti lasted longer than your tolerance. Cheers to a sparkling 2025! + LS299B, + JamesB, MikeBiDude and 1 other 1 1 2

For anyone with cataract/floater/detached retina issues, this feature induces a lot of anxiety. I can't stand it, and I can't wait for it to go away. I should also add, I love snow in winter. Built many a snowman in my childhood. Moke and + ApexNomad 1 1
RadioRob Posted January 12 Posted January 12 You can switch to the legacy M4M theme during the times we have special effects added to the site. The legacy theme does not get these treatments. I try to leave the legacy versions as close as possible to the stock/vanilla IPB theme. Moke 1

That's really lovely to know. Thank you for the note. Now if only I could figure out what all that means, and how to do it. LOL. I'm so not made for a tech world.

LOL. I'm so not made for a tech world. If you go to the bottom of any page and click on Theme, this will appear, and you can select the Legacy Theme. Yes, it took me a moment to find it even though I had known about it before, so don't feel bad about it!!
d.anders Posted January 13 Posted January 13 @mike carey LOL, I never feel bad about hating user interfaces. I did not grow up on computers, so for me, it's like learning French. However, my brain still works (thank God), and when something is shown to me, I can learn. Thank you for showing me, Mike. I had no idea Theme existed, or what it could do. Interesting feature. Now I know how to avoid the snowflakes next holiday season. Much appreciated! mike carey 1
