Anyone have good experiences in the DMV area? Wondering if worth it to travel up to NYC for a weekend vs finding a provider down here. Seeking recommendations!

Actually the train isn't that expensive if you book well in advance. Booking a few days prior to a trip, you're definitely paying higher rates.

ADDENDUM:

Also if you're booking now for a trip in the next few months, you're going to be paying more because October/November/December gets a lot of travel for holiday related events (ie. Halloween, Thanksgiving (Macy's Parade), and Christmas). The saver fares re pretty much gone.

Booking now for some date after New Years will get you good to great prices for round trips.

Everything: train, hotels, dining are completely different ballgame in January, February, and even March. There are sometimes other reasons I need to be in NYC between Thanksgiving and New Year, but if there weren't, I would skip it entirely for those 6 or so weeks.

DC is a dry area. I really want to find an Asian provider with their own studio, like one of the mens spas in NYC. Sometimes I get on a train to NYC just to visit the spas.

Try this place out.  I haven't been there myself yet but I plan to on my next trip to DC.  I follow the owner on instagram and twitter and they seem like a hot time.  Always posting hot videos of the guys they wax.  It's Asian owned and operated.  One of the massage therapist even had a Rentmen page if I'm not mistaken.

I think I came across these folks once upon a time. Maybe was dissuaded by the price. It's an option… I will have to check them out.
