+ PhileasFogg Posted August 1, 2024 Posted August 1, 2024 Considering a trip with a friend to South Florida in Late Oct for some late fall sun and warmth. The plan would include visits to Haulover Beach. Is this a good idea? Are the beaches comfortable enough that time? Is there a good clothing optional hotel any of you recommend?

There are a handful of clothing optional hotels for men in Ft Lauderdale area: Worthington Guest House (includes Alcazar, Villa Venice, and the Grand properties) has 4 pools, 3 hot tubs, and about 100 rooms. (I've stayed there about a dozen times over the past decade, and have reservations for midweek this coming January) Pineapple Point is more upscale and gets great reviews. (I've never stayed, but have never heard anything bad about it) The Cabanas is nice and very quiet. (I've stayed there once). The Big Coconut Guesthouse is nice and has about a dozen rooms (I've stayed there twice). Then there are a handful of guest houses in Wilton Manors within walking distance of the gay nightlife: Ed Lugo's (I stayed twice), Solstice at Wilton (I stayed 3 times, with reservations again for this upcoming winter), Fantasy Island, and more... Enjoy! + PhileasFogg and thomas 1 1
BostonYankee1972 Posted October 18, 2024 Posted October 18, 2024 Well considering the storm i would check things to make sure they are back on their feet
Luv2play Posted October 18, 2024 Posted October 18, 2024 I don’t think Miami or Ft Lauderdale were affected by either storm Helene or Milton. + Vegas_Millennial 1

Enjoy! To update y'all on my stay in Ft Lauderdale from January 2025: I split my stay between the Grand (formerly Worthington) and Solstice at Wilton. I only stayed at the Grand because I scored a mid-week reduced rate before they started adding resort fees and parking fees. Their prices on the weekends are out of my budget. The hotel is physically the same as it was when it was the Worthington, but it is now connected to the Grand. The noticeable difference was that the hotel was less than half occupied during high season. The previous owners kept the prices lower so they were always 100% booked with a waiting list during high season. The appealing factor of the previous Grand/Worthington to me was the ability to mingle nude with a hundred other guests in the pools and hot tubs. My January 2025 visit, however, was like visiting a ghost town. For that reason and for the price and for its distance from the Drive, I will only choose to stay at Solstice at Wilton or another clothing optional hotel near Wilton Drive. My 2nd choices would be to stay at Big Coconut Guest House. I've stayed at the Cabanas once about a decade ago. It was nice, but for my budget and solo travel style I want something more affordable and closer to the Drive. thomas 1
