Speaking from my personal experience cockiness often accompanies men who think crossing boundaries is foreplay. I am very communicative in asserting my expectations. I thought the same thing when I saw J LA.  I have remained in touch with him over the years since he retired.  He's enjoying life and has a BF that he's been with for a while now.  One of the nicer guys that was in the business and managed to find happieness.
