Justfor.Fans downloads

Until today I was able to download JFF content for guys I follow using the Video Downloadhelper addin for Firefox.  Now it's not working, the download seems to be blocked.  VDH still works with other content, although I haven't tried it lately with OF as I'm not following anyone there. I've tried various workarounds to no avail.  Anyone else experiencing this?

I much prefer JFF to OF, but will not pay to follow content I cannot download, so may have to change loyalties if indeed they have found a way to block downloading.

I agree with JFF preventing downloads because what happens is people download content and then share it on torrent sites etc. It harms the producer because they lose income from subscribers.

It’s costly to produce good porn, and for many of the models they rely on the income. It’s not expensive to subscribe and for the good producers all of their content is available for subscribers to watch (I know that some do charge to subscribe and then charge to view which isn’t good). So I think overall if you like a guys content then just subscribe and please don’t make copies. If you really want a copy of a particular film you can always ask him to put it in his store (where you can buy the films for download). 

I’ve got over 100 films on my justforfans and subscribers get access to them all for $10.99 a month. Subscribe for a month and you can watch 3 a day! It’s great value 🙂

Have you seen any of your videos on free sites? 

Can you report them as stolen content and have them removed?

Is an endless cat and mouse game in the IT sector.

Even if they create a "stream only" service where porno can't be downloaded... folks will just film it with their iPhone.

I didn’t see it but a guy I had collaborated with saw it and he got it removed.

Same issue here. Have you now found a solution, @robear? Video DownloadHelper customer support hasn’t been much of a help for now.

@Jamie21, I totally understand your viewpoint, but please consider these following points…

 

Both robear and I (unless robear unsubscribed) *are* actually subscribed to one or more JFF models (in my case, a total of eight models). Therefore, we are actually supporting the models with monthly money, and occasionally even tips or PPV purchases.

 

We only want to download for our own private viewing so we can watch offline, play the scene on a large television screen, play the scene via our own

media player such as VLC that allows one to play a particular segment in a loop (instead of constant rewinding), that allows one to have two or more players open at the same time so we can watch different scenes or parts of a scene all at once, etc.

 

Besides, Internet streaming sometimes comes with the problem of buffering (intermittent interruptions during playback), even with a good computer and reliable Internet connection.

 

I’m still able to download from OnlyFans. The JustFor.Fans issue wasn’t solved yet. Like you, I prefer JFF (totally staffed by sex workers) and would rather support that platform (OnlyFans charges taxes, JFF doesn’t), but I may end up joining some of those of models on OnlyFans if I can no longer download.

 

Studio websites usually allow download for one’s personal use. I understand there may be piracy, but totally blocking downloads is not the solution.

Account settings in JFF provide two options for onsite video player.  The default is JS Player.  I found that changing to the HTML5 player again allows downloads (for now).  The latter option apparently doesn't offer 1080p viewing/downloading, but rather defaults to 720p, which is fine for me. Can't say this will work forever, or even with all content, but for now I've continued my subs on JFF.

I messaged one of my long-time follows, one of the few subs I continue month to month.  He is incredibly prolific, content creation is a full-time job and it shows in his pro-level production. That is to also say that he is obviously thoughtful and deliberate in managing his online business.  He replied he didn't know anything about this change and would look into it. It seems strange that the platform implemented such a sweeping change BY DEFAULT and didn't clearly communicate its implications to content creators.

I have a few subs on OF (who don't cross post on JFF) and none has opted in to DRM controls, so for now yes, it seems OF is the way if JFF is just too much trouble.

I see what you are saying @robear. Whilst you appear responsible unfortunately many aren’t and they’ll download all the content and upload it to free sites. Some of the films on my justforfans are available for followers to purchase by downloading them. Most of them are viewable online through the subscription. It’s my income, it costs me to make the films (I have bought cameras and lighting equipment, I pay for editing, for locations and subscriptions to sites to promote the films. Plus there’s my time. If there’s no way of me monetising the films, at least to cover the costs and my time I simply wouldn’t do it.

@robear Here's another solution below!

"Coconut downloader will only download vids in low resolution (540p) for me for some reason.  Luckily I found a workaround to save them at higher resolutions: You create a playlist, add the vids you want to rip to that playlist and then you can go and download them from the playlist in higher resolution.  It's a bit of a pain in the ass but at least it gets the job done.

For myself, I've become far less "acquisitive" about content and really don't download much any more.  My collecting days date to the era of individual subscription sites.  The tsunami of providers and content on the fans platforms make saving any of it kind of silly.  I spend much more time deleting what I have than adding to the collection.  But that's just me, appreciate the tip!

I downloaded it from the Edge addin store, so it passed MS's screening
