Ok I am not sure where to put this topic so I am planting it here. Twice within the last two weeks I've gotten phone calls about my ad running on men4rentnow.com. As the convo winded down I made my usual speech about my status and about it being in my profile. Both guys replied with the oh I didn't see it in there and thanks but no thanks. Tonight I almost lost it and hung up on the guy. Is it really that effing hard to read a damn profile? I am half tempted to answer my phone when it is a client calling just to blurb out my status so that it is out of the way before the potential client goes into what he's into or looking for. The guy who called tonight was within a hair of getting a good tongue lashing but I bit it and told him next time read the profiles and hung up on him. I know not the professional way of handling it but I was angry he wasn't smart enough to read basic English x( Ok my rant is off for now. You may now continue with your regular television viewing.

Hugs,

Greg

I wonder that too. I get atleast two calls a week guys expecting escort services out of a 80.00 massage. I have started becoming very rude with people over it. i had one guy call 5 times in one month and he always started the convo with so joe tell me about yourself. anytime the convo starts with that i know whats coming next. I had a guy about 6 months ago called up i told he what to expect. he asked if i would be nude with a hand release? i said fine but theres no oral or anal contact after all its a 80 massage. he wasnt on the table 20 seconds when he tried too stick my dick in his mouth. my response? do it. do it. stick my dick in that mouth and you're days of eating solid food are over.. i tossed him out on his ass.

Greg: You shouldn't be too surprised. The average adult hasn't read a book since Regan was in the White House. It's just a depressing fact of our modern day culture.

Louis I have an awesome vision plan through my employer. Would you like me to snag a pair or maybe grab a couple coke bottles for you in the soda section?:p All kidding aside I know looks are highly regarded in this ind. but what about what is typed out in the profile? Ok yes I know some of us are not English majors but a good number of us do have a grasp of the English language. Grrrrr ok right now I am not sure where I am going with this. I need to sign off and grab some dinner or some sorts. Having the last week off from work is driving me crazy! G-d I can't wait till Sunday when I go back officially!!!!

It's simple, Greg, and I've posted this before.

MEN DON'T READ INSTRUCTIONS!

We don't stop for directions when we're lost, we don't ask how things are done, and we DON'T READ INSTRUCTIONS.

When is the last time you bought a new power tool (sorry, a Lesbian thing), or a new kitchen gadget and read the manual before you plugged it in and tried it?

MEN DON'T READ INSTRUCTIONS!

We see something we like, we buy it, and then we poke it until we figure out what it does. It's a male thing.

Gay men are not exempt. We may have a lot of female in us, but we're still men and WE DON'T READ INSTRUCTIONS.

Just a thought. ;-)

My spelling has always been the shitz - that's why I could never hold down a job as a secretary. But it's good to know that the spelling police are ever vigilant. Every board needs one.

John F. Kennedy...and I know I spelled that right! Yay, credibility for me, so what do I win?

Obviously the client should read the profile. But remember, many profiles don't say much that is useful: very handsome. great guy, great body, great time, etc. Many profiles omit critical infor, top, bottom, anal, oral etc. Many say versitile, when they don't bottom at all. Many talk about massage, while implying that they will do more with talk about their dick or bottom.

I am guessing a lot of people look at M4RN profiles and

see the pics, check the location (and possibly if the person

will travel), the person's age and a few other stats, their

phone number (if there is one), the price, and that's it.

Many clients are guessing the price is "full service",

whether it says "massage", "escort", "modeling", or

whatever in the box. In your case, they have guessed

wrong, so there will be no prize for them behind Door #2,

unless that includes a boot out the door!

You are sure it wasn't Dwight David Eisenhower? Nah, I am sure that you are correct about JFK being more popular. Fortunately, the Congress passed none of his legislative agenda. Unfortunately, he was assassinated and LBJ got all of it passed and more. Some of it worthwhile and some of it not but passed because of emotionalism and pressure, not sweet reason.

Anton,

Those annoying things result in hurting you more than the perpetrators until and unless, as you discovered, you ignore them and then they do what they do and you do what you do. Good for you.

We have a similar problem here in the suburb where I live. There is a distinct bike lane on many "major", meaning through, streets but joggers seem to abandon the sidewalks and love to run in the bike lanes. I don't know how the bikers feel but drivers do not know what they will do next. Very vexing.

You are very correct and astute to notice and give credit to the fact that people have different backgrounds and different expectations to many common, every day happenings.

Best regards,

KMEM

> LOL, in a sense I can understand that tourists tend to walk in the middle of the bikers-lane and that they don't respond to bikers ringing their bells.

Maybe they don't understand Dutch.

That said, I've always responded to bikers ringing my bells. ;-)

And we hate to go shopping, except when our wives make us. And we always leave the toilet seat up. And what about them women drivers, huh? (deej, if you could go back in time about 40 years, you could probably have a very successful stand-up comedy career). :p

Mark, dear boy. If you're going to hurl caustic remarks, it would serve you well to brush up on your reading skills.

I said "hasn't" - not "can't"

There IS a huge difference.

I have tried very, very, very hard to empathize with you on this, truly. Yet, I feel that, ultimately, what all of this venting is about is something related to your chemistry that particular day: Maybe low blood sugar, maybe negative energy in the body related to things out of balance with you. Yet, even if the thing you were venting about really ticks you off, I don't know if hanging up on prospective clients is the best way to handle things.

My perspective on things is this: There certainly are times when we may end inappropriate phone contacts rather than be subject to them by disconnecting the call, etc. Yet, if we just randomly hang up on individuals subject to our moods at the moment, we send out this message: "I don't care about any new business. I don't need any new business. I am so wonderful and so much in demand that I can just hang up on anyone and everyone."

Getting back to the crux of the complaint, what I have discovered is this: Most individuals reading escort ads often don't recall what they read in the ad or don't have the ad in front of them while responding to it (and this is especially true of ads placed on the internet). Other individuals are skeptical as to the content of the ads and therefore ask unnecessary and sometimes inane questions.

In theory, we would think that individuals would be intelligent enough to click on the "About Me" tab of your profile on your personal website; and actually take the time to read the content. In practice, however, many individuals don't bother with tabs and have limited patience and attention span as to reading detailed content.

We certainly cannot control the behavior of others, but we can control how we respond to others' behavior.

Just the same, thanks for venting, Greg.

Mikey
