Reading your second post I see your point...people do often ask me when are you available and to some degree it does make sense for the client to say when there available however I often when asked when I am available ask them for What day they are thinking of and how long? I know it just turns it around but it makes sense as you say to have them tell me when there free rather than the other way around.

I am a client and I would like to provide a different perspective:

I travel to my hometown in Canada a few times a year to see my family and friends. I usually stay for a long weekend. I try to squeeze in a playdate with an escort. However, life happens and things change, like finding out that your five-year-old nephew is playing soccer that evening, so you desperately try to change your playdate to another time. And I end up cancelling the appointment and I am seen as a 'flake' by the escort (frankly, I don't blame him).

I have learned my lesson: either communicate more with your family and friends so that you're not caught unawares, or don't schedule an escort in, if you have a tight schedule.

Scott I have had the same problem and I think it was purplekow who responded the way I would respond or close to it. I always suggest a time-always. This process really does go much faster if, at times we take the initiative and give suggestions and then the answer can be yes or no and then we give other alternatives.

I know this doesnt sound right, but we have to be more on the offense, suggesting and offering answers instead of waiting for them.

Yeah, the person called us and I wish to god that people were more concrete about things but I have learned that if I want to make the sale, then i have to be more aggressive. of course this is all talk at 1am when someone asks am i available later this evening

Rick, Rick. Ye of Abrahamic descent know only too well how attracting Yahweh's attention can lead to the furthest thing from a good outcome. For all his trouble, look at how Moses ended up.

>And the answer is: "#1 At The Blue Whale" :7

Collinsport hip! Remember the disco lights?

>(coming in a close second: "London Bridge")

At last summer's convention, a hilarious fan video had Barney finally bursting out to Sarah: "And you! Two hundred years and you still haven't learned more that one goddamned song!"

One more reason we need to attend next time! Btw, we love how David refers to the song as "London Bridges," as in "London Bridges falling down." Not the greatest mondegreen, but it cracks us up anyway.

As bad as being cheap

There have been some posts on the site about how some people don't trust or hire escorts who charge less than $150. Well, for me, to look at someone's page on one of the services and see that he has checked availability for 24/7 turns me off. It tells me that I am looking at someone who is new at the business and doesn't value himself as much as he should. I do think that escorts, like everyone else should set "office hours" and days off, at least one a week.

That said, I do have another job or two and they do create a schedule for me of times I am not available. However, it's not a simple weekly schedule. It's basically an every two weeks schedule - a fortnightly schedule, if you would. And when pottential clients ask me when I am available over the phone, I really have to ask them to specify a week and possible days. If not, my natural TMI gets them too long an answer to process adequately aurally. That's no problem, of course.

And it is certainly no problem now that I have given up, basically, on clients wanting me at any time other than the next three days. And with the majority of them, they are still at that stage where they will ask if I have some time available today and mean if its not within the next, say, two hours, it's not going to do them any good anyway. LOL

>Not the greatest mondegreen

Got me back! I had to go look up mondegreen.

Then I remembered my favorite example, about Lyndon Johnson's presidential audiotapes...

LBJ insisted that transcripts of the conversations be typed up immediately. In the rush, his heavy Texas drawl misled harried typists and mistakes crept in. In one instance, LBJ said a "pack them bastards" was waiting to see him. On listening closer, that turned out to be the "Pakistan ambassador."

My new favorite: We just got the Season One DVD's for Maude, and found out that we've always heard the theme song's lyrics incorrectly:

"Isadora was the first bra burner,

Angie Black, she showed up,

And when the country was falling apart,

Betsy Ross got it all sewed up

And then there's Maude..."

We knew that Isadora was Isadora Duncan but we had no idea who Angie Black was, so I googled her. The only Angie Black I could find was a contemporary Christian singer who "sings for the Lord.". So, I decided to google the lyrics to Maude and found out that the actual words are:

"Isadora was the first bra burner,

Aren't you glad she showed up?"

You're in good company in re: mangling sung verses...

"Wildwood Flower" is an American song, best known through performances and recordings by the Carter Family. However, the song predates them...

Although originally a parlor song, the song had undergone quite a bit of the folk process by the time the Carter Family recorded it. For example, the original first verse was:

I'll twine 'mid the ringlets of my raven black hair,

The lilies so pale and the roses so fair,

The myrtle so bright with an emerald hue,

And the pale aronatus with eyes of bright blue. [3]

The better-known Carter Family version begins:

Oh, I'll twine with my mingles and waving black hair,

With the roses so red and the lilies so fair,

And the myrtle so bright with the emerald dew,

The pale and the leader and eyes look like blue. [4]...

IMHO. The Day and Time "Initially" should be up to The Client, it is after all his "Dime for The Time"! LOL

IF there is a "Sked Problem", and The Client is that "Hot" for The Working Guy, then the Day and Time should be an agreeable 2nd Choice for both.

Taking the "Whatever Works" for The Working Guy is usually not the Original email to most Guy's I'm sure..Nobody ever get's that from me for sure!

Not at the More or Less Going Rates in NYC! LOL :p :P :p

Scott, I believe that it is just a way of showing respect to you as an escort and more so, as a person.

In my experience, it has been shown that time and time again, more clients than not have more free time than expected of me. So by asking when I am available, they pass the ball into my court allowing me to control, for the most part, when we meet.

I do get a lot of guys calling and asking if I am free during specific times but, that is only because they are only free during that time.
