Im trying to find out how you go about creating a website - How do you find someone to do it - I have no experience with internet stuff. How much does it cost to set up and how much does it cost to maintain?

How do most escorts get clients? I had been using AOL basically - Are all the different advertiser sites working for people - IF so, which ones. IVe only been doing this p/t and haphazardly so havent used any of them and am trying to decide if I shouuld cancel my AOL account since I only see a handful of people anyway and my life is getting much busier. I realize that many of these sites charge but it would seem that 1 client would make it worth it usually - I just dont know where people go most of the time, and I do have issues with discretion and privacy - and concerns about legal issues.

Also just wondering about clients who do a lot of overnights and weekend or longer trips. How do you seem to get the clients who do that - and for clients if out there, how do you have a couple of thousand bucks to spend on it? I just dont find those types of people - Pple usually want a 'bargain' and worst thing (or best) is th at Im too honest and too nice so Im very upfront and want the client to have realistic expectations and be satisifed - So rather than other pple who will say YES to anything to get someones cash, I will refer them elsewhere if I dont think we'd be a match...But I do like longer appointments and prefer them since I like making a connection with people and intimacy of some sort - But I just meet nice people wh o then want to become friends (and often I could see that too) _ and I know thats a no-no but then it becomes awkward. I did have one overnight I really looked forward to recently but his work schedule prevented him from following thru with it for now. Does this happen to others also? I find a lot of people cancel, dont show up or 'something comes up' - and thats made it very frustrating and hard to plan schedules in personal life becuase I rearrange things only for someone to not follow thru and then my day gets wasted (whther its work i decline or personal things I decline)

So just would like to know more from escort (and client) perspectives of recommendations of how to go about all this stuff --- esp the website thing (is it worth it for you) and the advertisting and where you find clients/escorts....Part of me really wants to do more and have like a jounral or webcam stuff like that but I dont know that i can do all that and i know discretion will prevent some of it because Ive got to keep my privacy and i know thats a drawback.

Oh one last question for escorts who do travel? IF you havent met the person before, how do you protect yourself for safety reasons - How do you know its not some kook or murderer or rapist or who knows what? I think Id be a bit apprenhensive to fly across the country or to another country with someone I havent even met...although I love the idea of it whether spendign a night, weekend, etc and do have a passport and love traveling and since I really prefer longer appointments, connectinos with pple and seeing them happy - its something Id love to do - Maybe Im just in a market without big spenders or maybe I do have to try to advertise on a site or two and see what happens...but also have to decide if i should give up the aol since i was planning to but thats where majority of my clients have come from. Also if you do travel and you had been using an alias, I assume you then have to give your real name to the client - dont you?

Anyway im not sure how this forum thing works or if this will get posted in the forum i had hoped which was ask an escort.

Here's the good news: your questions got posted in the right forum!

Here's the bad news: you've requested a distillation of every post that's ever been made here in the last 5 years. That ain't likely to happen. ;-)

If you'll read past posts here, you'll likely bump into every question you've asked. The usual answer, and the only one that really works, is "it depends". Every situation is different, just as every person is different.

You'll probably get better and more informative responses if you ask just one question per post. That allows people to only answer that question, should they have an interest in re-posting what's been posted here over and over again for the last five years. (And believe me, some guys DO have an interest in doing that!)

You might also try clicking on the SEARCH button, above. You might be surprised what has been discussed here before. (Lord knows *I* am!)

Welcome aboard!

The search feature actually works very intelligently. It uses Google as a basis, so some of the same (if not the same) rules that apply at Google, should apply here. The problem is that you need to know what to look for. In your case, I would do an ADVANCE SEARCH and just look within ASK THE ESCORTS for a forum, versus all forums (the default) for most of your questions and then try different and more specific variations of what you are trying to determine. For example, "website" is a poor search term, too many different issues will come up so you might try "website design" which may not bring up any or bring up to few.

In other words, you will need to work to get the information you need.

However, as a short answer to some of your questions:

1. You have asked some of this before but if I recall correctly, you have current photographs, you are just reluctant to show your face on line. This will limit the amount of response you receive from clients irrespective of where you are listed or if it is your own website.

2. Based on the number of questions you ask and the issues you raise, I personally do not think you would be served by a website of your own. In your case, you are likely better off using all the escort listing sites which do not charge and THEN after trying that for several months, if you still want to increase your business, trying a three month course of advertising on a site like RENT BOY or MEN 4 RENT NOW, depending on what might work for your location.

However, I cannot stress enough what Deej mentioned. You asked way too many questions and much of what you asked is repetitive of what has been asked before, so please SEARCH FIRST and then ask simple, direct, short questions if you are not finding the answers you seek. Finally, make friends with some escorts in YOUR area and ask them, even if it is just by chatting on line with them on AOL.

It depends. To create a website, the first thing you really need to do is find a place to host it (storage space on a reliable server with ample bandwidth so people can get to it and it doesn't go down). There are free options out there (like GeoCities) where you can set it up yourself, but these aren't very professional (popup ads galore, low storage space, etc.). If you want a professional looking site, you'll need to go with a web hosting company. (Shameless plug, but some friends and I are setting up a web hosting company called HNK Technology Solutions, Inc. at http://www.hnkts.net - we have pretty decent rates too if I may say so.)

To get the website design done, you'll have to pay someone for that too, either someone at the hosting company if they offer it or an independent contractor. It can get costly for web site development, especially if you expect someone to maintain the site for you. I'd recommend you find someone to design the initial site and make you a custom template. Then, if you're at all technology savvy, it should be simple enough to learn how to edit the basics of that template (such as calendar/schedule, journal, news, add pictures to a gallery, etc.). That way, the only changes you'd pay for would be the major site revamps or additions, and you could edit the basics easily enough yourself with a bit of training.

Before you go the website route, I'd honestly consider placing some ads at sites already out there first. Americanmale.net, Men4RentNow, and MeetLocalMen are some examples, and there are others too (some free, some pay I think). Even if you have a website, you'll still need to advertise to get people to visit, so it would make sense (to me anyways) to do this first and see how that goes before setting up a website.

Well, as a client, honestly most of the escorts I see would be ones I've seen favorable reviews of here on this site. Additionally, I check out AmericanMale.net often, and sometimes I also check out the other websites I listed above. The problem with the non-review websites is that there are a lot of crooked people on there, and without a review, it's sometimes hard to tell the scams from the real deals. Still, you could at LEAST drum up interest and some customers by posting ads there.

>Also just wondering about clients who do a lot of overnights

>and weekend or longer trips. How do you seem to get the

>clients who do that - and for clients if out there, how do you

>have a couple of thousand bucks to spend on it?

First of all, it depends on the client. I, for one, also prefer longer appointments (overnights or weekends) to quickies - quickies just don't do that much for me, but then I'm shy and it takes me a while to get comfortable with someone, so I like to give myself that time.

As far as cost is concerned, it all depends on how much discretionary income (or discretionary savings in my case - lol) someone is willing to spend and how much they value seeing escorts. For me, I'm fortunate financially in that I don't have any debt and at this point in time, it's worth the price to me. It may not be something I'll always be able to afford, but for right now, it's worth it to me, and I'd rather do that sometimes than some other forms of entertainment. There may come a point where I won't feel I need to see escorts (for example, if I get a steady boyfriend) or there may come a point where I won't be able to afford it (if I don't substantially increase my income in the next few to several years), but I figure I'll tackle things as they come.

>I just dont

Though you may feel this is hurting you now, it can also benefit you I'm sure. There are clients out there who appreciate an honest, upfront, nice guy to spend time with, and I think this is likely to get you repeat business when you do find some good clients - that just may take a bit of time.

>But I do like

>longer appointments and prefer them since I like making a

>connection with people and intimacy of some sort - But I just

>meet nice people wh o then want to become friends (and often I

>could see that too) _ and I know thats a no-no but then it

>becomes awkward.

I like making a connection too. I think that's a tricky balance that takes practice. For example, I see an escort regularly. I truly feel we're on friendly terms, but at the same time I make no illusions about it being more than a commercial transaction that benefits us both, and I think expecting more than that or pushing for more than that would be dangerous for both of us. At the same time, I enjoy knowing him a little bit and would hope he enjoys knowing me.

>I did have one overnight I really looked

Depends on the client. I would never cancel an arrangement unless a real emergency came up (or I gave advance notice for good reason and some sort of apology). However, from what I've read here, it seems this scenerio with people cancelling a lot does happen pretty often. I would guess a lot of times fear and guilt also come into play, but that's simply a guess on my part.

>Oh one last question for escorts who do travel? IF you havent

I think travelling greatly enhances the number of clients you might get. For example, as a client in a very rural area away from the big cities, there are virtually no reliable escorts I know of in the immediate area. Even the CLOSEST areas I can think of are a good 2-4 hours away by car, and those areas have very, very few pickings. So most of the time, seeing an escort requires travel, either on my part or on the part of the escort. I don't mind travelling to escorts sometimes (for example, to visit a city or something), but I also really like it if someone can come closer to where I am sometimes, especially for a first meeting. (There's nothing like traveling a long ways to meet someone and then being stood up, but I'm sure that also happens on both ends of things. I think it's less likely if a client is paying for the travel, but then there's always risk of dishonesty there too.

Hey... I'm also an amateur web designer, I did my own escort/masseur site ( http://www.4HotHands.com )... If you don't need a very ornate site I can provide a simple one like this.

Let me know what you think!

Cheers, David
