I planned by entire day today (one of my only days off… ever) around seeing Thickmuscle at noon.  We had easy communication, and he was game for all of the activities I messaged him that I was in.  I arrived at his building about 7 minutes early and he messaged me that he would not be available until exactly noon. I buzzed him at exactly 12:01, walked up to his apartment, and he lets me in.  He is strikingly handsome and looks just like his pics.  He then told me he wouldn’t be able to do today since he didn’t realize he would have to work… this was obviously not true because if that were the case, he would have let me know via message instead of letting me in and turning me away on sight.  That said, he was pleasant and offered to reimburse me for my commute (I declined).

yikes that's pretty concerning.....do you think it's because you weren't his type?

That’s what I assumed to be the reason.  I’m used to getting dismissed immediately due to my height (even though it’s listed in my profile AND described in my username)… though it could have been anything.  I was quite sweaty when I arrived, but when he asked me how I got there, I explained that I had taken a bus and a very long walk [in sweltering heat and humidity this morning] to get to him (so if hygiene was his concern, he would know that my sweatiness was situational and nothing a quick hop in the shower couldn’t take care of).

...sounds like he's not very experienced in the customer service side of things...since he was hosting he should of offered to let you take a shower or something....
nice to see he still looks like himself at least since some of the pics on his profile are a few years old so I was unsure if he still did or not...

I don’t think the need to shower was the issue; I just gave it as the only possible explanation other than my not being his type.

He does look like his pics (at least the face; I didn’t get to see his body)- incredibly handsome… in fact, so handsome that I would consider hiring him if he were to reach out with an explanation (and the reason were something I could control).

darn, yea he was pretty flaky when i tried meeting him not too long ago....I didn't share a pic or anything so i think it's just his personality

I've met with him a couple of times and had no issues with him. He's actually a nice person. It seems like the encounter would have been a dud and you would have lost money on a bad experience. I think it's better that you both didn't go through with it.

That’s why what happened was so surprising- he had all good reviews and seemed really nice!

I second that opinion. I've been with him a few times. Very sweet boy-next-door vibe. Photos are very representational of his current looks. (Although they are a mix of newer and older). I have always left VERY happy. I suppose its possible that there was something that put him off. As @BrklynNYC said: Better to walk away than pay for a disappointing session. Kind of him to offer to reimburse your travel costs. Thats in line with the sweet personality that he has always exhibited with me.

I reached out to ThickMuscle per the recommendation of another poster, and he sent this response (I blanked a potentially identifying detail for his privacy) :

You did nothing wrong. I was in a rush with work and only had a break. I had an ____ after your appointment so I was in my head and anxious

I believe him and thus will try to hire him in the future!

The kid is very nice and definitely attractive.

If there was no mismatch of preferences between you two, then I would recommend you schedule another appointment .
