+ WilliamM
My brother lives very close to the north east entrance to the park. The entrances to the park are still closed. The nearest supermarket is in Gardiner, Montana, a long drive from where my brother lives. Gardner and the area to the west entrance to the park are hit most by the flood (partly caused by the melting snow.) I was there about ten years ago in October - it snowed for about twenty four hours straight! Just hope vacation plans aren't ruined. My brother has lived there since wolves were returned to the park (from Canada). He was a park ranger who searched for the wolves for the visiting folk + Charlie
+ Charlie
The Colorado River is drying up while the Yellowstone River is flooding. Something is out of balance here in the West: could climate change be real?😲 Edited June 15, 2022 by Charlie samhexum and keefer 1
Luv2play
The area just north of the park in Montana is Hemingway country. All those place names I've read about in his published letters. He's better known for his life in Key West and Cuba but he loved Montana so much he went there many years to hunt even when he was living in the former places. + Charlie and + WilliamM
+ WilliamM
Doug Smith, the leading wolf expert in Yellowstone: The 100 wolf are doing fine as are the elk (their prey). These animals tend to stay away from rivers. My brother and my 97year old first cousin is following this awful flooding from her home in Arizona. I think she is a year older than Queen Elizabeth and just as sharp 😂
+ leo2510
I'm off to Glacier NP for a family reunion in a few days. I hope the tourists displaced by the closures at Yellowstone don't all choose en masse to move their holidays northward this week! + WilliamM
