BUSINESS SLOW ??

Although not a frequest contributor to the message center, I have contributed numerous escort reviews and do check the site out daily. That said..I was wondering if 'Business' is generally slow ? I only base that question on the shrinking number of reviews submitted and posted daily. It appears that there are fewer and fewer everyday.. Is it that people are just not taking the time to write about their experiences and submit them, or is it possible that given the daily news events as reported on CNN invoving the "war crisis" .. as well as all the events since 9/11 just taken it's toll on all aspects of our lives..even the pleasures of hiring some incredibly, great guys..

 

If my perceptions of the slow down is incorrect well that's great, for you guys..But if we who greatly appreciate your services are just not taking the time to submit a review, well then..it's time to get those fingers moving across the keyboard.

 

Just an observation from one who all to often himself, stands by and let the world pass by ...

From an escort perspective, I personally do not think it is slow but I work with very few clients a week. Nearly every other escort or body work I speak with does comment or has commented that business is slow. Some of my regulars have continued to hire me at the same pace, while others have not.

 

I believe that Hoo Boy is working harder to verify information on the escorts, so that only those of us who are currently working are listed. He has also cracked down on suspect reviews. I also thing the political and social events you have described, the state of the economy, the regular vacation period taken by both escorts and clients, have all contributed. It does seem like some days have a lot of reviews but others there are only four or five.

 

You would have to ask more clients, particularly those who do write reviews for feedback, but I would suggest it is any number of factors working together.

Things in New Orleans have slowed to a snail's pace. Of course, this is a tourist town.

 

Recently on a return trip from Miami, there were 3 other passengers on the plane with me. I have not seen anything like that in years.

 

Fortunately, I have local clientele. But, to be honest I have experienced a dramatic drop in the number of traveling businessmen who would normally contact me. I don't know how it is effecting the local boys.

Biz has def. been slow on this end, and I haven't exactly placed my finger on the pulse for the reasons, other than to note...it's SLOW.

I'm sure that in some areas of the country this may be a slow period just as in any business cycle. Another possible explanation for the reduced number of published reviews could be directly related to the fact that Hoo is moving from one state to another.

 

We've all been through it and moving is bad enough let alone to another state. Traveling, finding a place, packing, movers, putting stuff in storage, etc. I think much of his time may just be consumed by moving chaos for a while.

I haven't submitted a review in six months because 1)I have only had sex once in that time, and 2)it was with an escort whom I have already reviewed this year. Other clients who prefer a regular escort may not have submitted reviews, either, and I suspect that guys who frequent this site are more likely to find someone with whom they want to do repeats. The decrease in my sexual activity is not due to the economy or current events--it's mainly a diminution of energy as I grow old.

I stopped hiring for financial reasons, followed by self-esteem issues. While the financial barriers to hiring still exist for me, I've improved my self-esteem somewhat (it wasn't in all that bad a shape before) through changing my body and attitude, to the point that finding good-looking free dates was no longer the problem. Scheduling became the problem.

 

But I have considered going back to hiring for safety reasons, as I mentioned in another thread. Now I know I can get a date if I want (that was important to me, for some shallow reason) - so it's no longer the issue. The escorts I would hire again I know to be safe and sane, clean, intelligent, and don't mind spending a little extra time (off the clock) talking before and after a session. It is these gentlemen I will go back to.

 

For financial reasons, I would only budget once per quarter (assuming $200/session). If an escort raises his prices, then all the better for him, but I can't afford it.

 

If business is slow nowadays, how elastic is the demand when price is factored? I think Franco has an intelligent and business-oriented marketing plan. I suppose some others do as well, but I haven't seen them described. One guy I used to see in L.A. - and I saw him more than anyone else (about 8 times in one year) is fantastic, but wouldn't lower his price for repeat business or even offer extra time throughout the whole time I saw him. Of course I didn't expect it even up to the 5th time, but going forward from there, some sort of incentive to keep me coming back would have been in order, I think. He deals mostly with one-timers and new clients, so his pricing scheme more or less reflects that (i.e., "if it weren't you here right now, it would be someone else - probably someone I never met before.").

 

Some escorts already come at a bargain by market pricing (under $200/hour), so I wouldn't expect a price break from them, unless perhaps I was seeing them once a week or so.

 

Working in the pricing field in my own industry (a poor example, in any case - but works academically), I understand the line between maintaining the perceived integrity of your product through price, and market conditions. At some point, if business becomes really slow, I predict some softening in escort pricing practices.

 

I will say this - now is not the time to jump into the biz with a price of $400/hour to begin with.

Glad your doing so well. I've made alot of changes to myself, but it wasn't until last Saturday, that it really sunk in.

 

On the financial front, I've been on an extended break from my regular world so until I decide to actually get a paying job, (I've been doing do alot of volunteer work as of late), hiring is out of the question. I have wondered when I become gainfully employeed, if I will hire again. I just don't know.

 

It would make things easier to "hire in", but it turns out it's also alot of fun not having to "beat the clock".

 

As far as health issues, I think I'm at less of a risk with someone that I've hung out & talked with for awhile. In the sane category, so far only one bad experience. After ending up at his place he wanted to read me a poem! I couldn't get out of there fast enough.

It wouldn't surprise me if business slowed a bit over the last 2 years.

 

I haven't hooked up with an escort in 2 years, primarily because of finances.

 

I lost my jockstrap in stocks the last 2 years as did many others. The mild recession doesn't help matters either. Less discretionary money spent by alot of us who previously didn't have concerns about the bank balance. The negative wealth affect usually impacts most businesses across the board, at least to some degree.

 

Im getting increasingly hungry for something lately. Im a looker now but noticed escort rates have shot up alot in the last 1 to 2 years. Not sure if I will bite unless I find a reasonable rate structure.

Well, as much as i'd like to say everyone is getting ready to hole-up and hibernate for the winter, it seems that (personally) business is picking up and doing rather well here in the Lone Star State. Luckily, 90% of my business has been traveling~ apparently guys are giving themselves Christmas presents a little early this year.

With most things in life, this business tends to peak-out at times. Going for an entire week without a client can be somewhat depressing, but as Rick said~ it gives more time to get personal work done, whatever that may be... At times, things about escorting reminded me of the wacky self-promotional gimmicks i used to pull when i was courting potential agents/managers for acting & musical theatre gigs. I'm sure if anyone here knows an actor, you've heard some great stories about the lengths we'd go to land an agent. We're a strange bunch to say the least

In talking with other escorts I do hear from some that business has slowed down, though others say it's the same: a mixed bag.

Speaking for myself I'm very pleased with business. I think two things contribute though: first, as a certified fitness instructor, trained masseur, AND escort I've got a wide variety to offer clients that I believe increases interest. Second, I've received a lot of positive media attention that has been incredible for my local recognition and demand.

Regarding the postings on HooBoy I tend to believe it's a mix of clients just not taking the time and, as Franco said, HooBoy being very festidious in screening reviews to ensure they are real.
