Deej essentially gave the answer I would have given well above. As an escort who has been attacked even when defending my views I have given up on answering questions unless it appears no one else is answering. If someone else has provided the answer I would give, there is no reason for me to post as members on the site seem particularly loath to see my comments on occassion.

 

However, I would like to point out that this type of behavior, on the part of some participants, as I have tried to point out in a more subtle manner elsewhere, has lead a number of escorts (and clients) to not post. It is part of the heart of Rick Munroe's (and everyone who has been agreeing with him) message in Take Back The Site.

 

This is still the first section I go to and it is still the first section I respond in. It and the Deli. I think people here DO want to hear from the escorts -- even from me -- and I am not going to shy from a few "brick bats" (Ethan will need to correct my spelling here and yes, that is a joke, we have made peace).

 

I also know from my own conversations with other escorts is that often avoid answering the same questions over and over again or they avoid answering (as I do) when their answer has been provided and they have nothing to add. I would suggest that our humble web master consider a new section here, with the commonly asked questions and the better answers. The escorts could then record their poll votes, as with the cover boy voting, so you can see how many (and even which escorts) agree with which position.

I don't see how Post 5 is responsive, but then again my latter comment about engaging in dabate was not particularly directed at you. I just think this conference could be really interesting, and sometimes is like in the legalization discussion and a feww others, when escorts throw off their inhibitions and engage in debate and dialogue here.

I tend to agree with Merlin. I mentioned in thread #4 that one of my regulars is always late, but I expect him to be, so his lateness is not a problem. No reasonable person expects an escort in New York City to consistently arrive within ten minutes of the appointed time, especially for an overnight.

 

There are, however, times that I get annoyed about the time of an appointment. For a first meeting, I believe that the escort has the obligation to establish his professionalism by being on time. If he is more than 15 or 20 minutes late (and does not call to let me know that he is caught in traffic or has gotten lost), I tend to either write him off before he arrives or cancel our appointment.

 

There are other instances where plans are altered by an escort, and I'm not at all sure how I feel about those. Changing the time of an appointment for a good reason is generally not an issue for me. But there are exceptions: This week, in fact, an escort that I've seen about three or four times (and who lives in another state) changed not the time but the location of our meeting (to another city about 150 miles away, due to a misreading of his vacation schedule). I tried to be reasonable and give him the benefit of the doubt, but I cancelled. He is supposed to accomadate me (especially with two weeks advance planning), not the other way around.

Ad rian - I'm not offended by your answer, just puzzled as to how it could be nonresponsive to remind people that one prime reason guys can be late can be that they are just plain lost. It wasn't a direct response as to how long to wait, but an indirect one listing another reason why one might wait a little longer. Would it help if I wondered out loud, so to speak, if the legendary male reluctance to admit one is lost and ask for directions might keep a male from phoning ahead to let someone know he is lost? Especially, I would think, for a top who is supposed to be a bit dominant once he arrives? (Joking, well maybe, but serious, too.) :-)

You are right, sorry. I was thinking of your Post 16, not 5. My main point is that I would like to hear more escorts on the topic at hand.

Most escorts don't post here is because of all the attack posters. At least three have told me that directly, in private. Many more have said they just don't want anything to do with this place because it's so hostile.

 

They have a point.

 

Why should they give up a pleasant evening to come here and have someone like Regulation rub their noses in unfortunately worded posts from six months ago that have no relevance except that it serves his muckraking agenda?

 

Why should they subject themselves to ridicule? They're as human as you and I. They deserve a hug once and a while as well, but some posters here certainly will never give it to them.

 

Posters like Joey Ciccone, Rick Munroe, and Franco DiSantis should be applauded for TOLERATING the bullshit they have to put up with here.

 

Wanna hear from more escorts? Kill the attackers.

 

That's my opinion, anyway.
