Thanks for posting this @GoldenGrill. I’m sorry that you seem to have been duped. This is why I’ve not used an online trainer, no matter how cute he is.

IDK what he promised you - something written to be sent via email or exercises/meal-plans to be viewed online via Zoom or such. I guess that, if it were me, I’d reach out to him again via Instagram and send another DM to him. I’d be polite and just say you haven’t received the plans you promised. Ask, if he’s now too busy, for a full refund. Then if his silence continues, I’d report him as a scammer to Instagram

It's fairly simple to check up on any service provider these days, by googling their name and following threads for all their various identities. I don't hire anyone or order anything without checking reviews first.

This one seems to have been a red flag for some time.

That said....you can't be sure someone scammed you 24 hours later. People aren't always good about answering every message.

Hi all,

I haven't made many posts here over the past few years, primarily due to the fact that I haven't hired or met any men working within the world of escorting, stripping etc. in quite some time. But I've often been moved by how supportive of one another the members can be, for all the ribbing that goes on, so I'm going out on a limb here because I can't think of a more appropriate place to ask for help.

I have been researching personal trainers for some time, that work with clients either in person or virtually, and happened to reconnect with an individual that I met some years ago at an Adonis Lounge event. His name is Gio Melchor, and he uses his name openly on websites where he advertises as an escort and a masseur, as well as on his OnlyFans page. He is based in New York, as I am, but mainly does online coaching, and we discussed this at some length before he told me his rates and I decided I would like to proceed with him.

Earlier this evening, I sent my payment to him for my first month of training, with the understanding that upon doing so he would begin creating the plans that that money promised me (for in the gym and in the kitchen). He confirmed receiving the payment, and answered several more messages before the image next to his WhatsApp info disappeared. I attempted to reach out to him through his second number (the one in his profiles online), by email and in an Instagram DM, to no avail, and at the rate that PayPal's customer service gets things done I simply can't wait it out.

Am I finally learning a difficult lesson that everyone does at some point, despite how careful I have always been and how convincing he was? The guy's public Instagram page lists him as a personal trainer, and he has over 120K followers... I can't believe this is happening. Is there anything I can do? Is there any way to effectively but legally get the word out? I'm all ears... just please, no wisecracks. This has put me in a terribly negative headspace.

PS - I did not find him on an escorting site and inquire about personal training; I'm not that naive. I just thought since he is also a provider that if nothing else this can serve as a warning to stay far away.

I am not clear on how you connected with him - did you approach him via social media or from a personal website?  And did you speak with him face to face on Whatsapp or was it just a message exchange?

It seems to me there are 2 scenarios and each have their own approach towards resolving it:

1.  Did you really engage with Gio Melchor?

2. Did you engage with a scammer that pretends to be Gio Melchor?

As @pubic_assistance pointed out - if you really engaged with Gio, have you given him enough time to respond?
