I'm really at a loss of words how to describe this flick, other than I recommend it to no one. If you want to see Denzel Washington and Frances McDormand in a  toxic relationship that borders on a dark horror movie, then see it.

well that saves us some trouble of going to theater to see it today. I'll wait until it's free on Apple TV 1/14/22.

thanks, I had some reservations about Coen/McDormand/Washington doing a 2hr Shakespeare but early reviews were good.

This woman(!) pictured above does several scenes contorting herself. If that isn't enough, she speaks the famous 'double double toil and trouble' line, then coughs up a childs body part.

I think this is a really good adaptation of the play, which all by itself is a horror story about a toxic relationship. Kathryn Hunter is indeed used very effectively as the witches, and the related bird imagery ties in throughout.

The performances overall are subtle, and I liked the B&W and narrow aspect ratio- it keeps the scenes feeling intimate and taut even on a barren plain. It has a strong theatricality to it visually which I grew to like more as it went on.
Probably not for everyone, but I’m really glad I caught it.
