I grew up in Chicago and visited Milwaukee at least once per month. You're right about it retaining its European feel. A college friend who grew up in Chicago and landed a job in one of the North Shore suburbs moved to Milwaukee because the cost of living was much lower than Chicago's and his commute was about the same as it would have been from Chicago to his job.

@Tygerscent someday we’re going to connect when you’re here!!  Hope Milwaukee was good to you.

Love visiting my home town~ I’ve a lot of foundation there: 16yrs with milwaukee co park system, (13 @ Whitnall and two running Scout Lake), four universities, (MIAD, UW-Milwaukee, UWMADISON & Milwaukee conservatory of music), sheep ranch and horses in Mt Horeb, indigenous/Eastern European and south Asian roots that I hold close to me even today~ My grandfather was a hot shot surgeon at both St Luke’s and St Francis. He taught me his knots for sutures~ 😛 His father was a political guy~
Lots of summers and winters up north near eagle river and long lake: snow mobiles, snow shoes, X country skiing, swimming/biking/hiking~
Hit me up thru RM~ 👍😎
