I may be in the minority, but I found the glow sticks, the cheesy
"modern" dance moves, and the paper mache boats to be
extremely tacky.

The dramatic night lighting does cover a thousand sins. You know,
like filming parts of such a spectacle in a place where 60 innocent
tourists were massacred less than 3 decades ago….

Nonetheless, Luxor and Karnak are astounding. I’m just not a fan
of the garish modern overlay that does little to enhance the 
original. 

Like most things in the Middle East…..Egypt is complicated.

Production value was still better than the last 30 years of Andrew Lloyd Webber shows.

Would love to visit Egypt one day.  I think the procession of the pharaohs back in April, when their remains were moved to the new museum, was quite amazing.
