after decades of excavation....obviously highly staged (!), but still very impressive......(please, no posts on Egypt's current political situation...thanks)

I may be in the minority, but I found the glow sticks, the cheesy
"modern" dance moves, and the paper mache boats to be
extremely tacky.

The dramatic night lighting does cover a thousand sins. You know,
like filming parts of such a spectacle in a place where 60 innocent
tourists were massacred less than 3 decades ago….

Nonetheless, Luxor and Karnak are astounding. I’m just not a fan
of the garish modern overlay that does little to enhance the 

original. 

Like most things in the Middle East…..Egypt is complicated.
