This guy is a scammer and thief. We met at a store parking lot. He looks like his pics but don't expect him to follow through on fulfilling what he was paid for. I foolishly gave him money upfront and we went inside store to buy lube via his suggestion. He then walks off while i'm getting help from an employee. He said he had an emergency call and told me to wait. I called him out. He denied that he was trying to scam me. He stayed committed to his role pretending to talk on phone and wanted me to believe him but obviously I didn't. He actually attempted to manipulate me into thinking I was unreasonable for assuming he was trying to scam me. Of course I didn't entertain that bs. He kept telling me to trust him and that he is in front of store but he never showed himself so clearly he was stalling and playing games. He insisted he was at store but I left and blocked him. Wasn't going to go back and forth with him. Stay away.

I don't understand why people think that Mintboys is a good place to find reliable providers.

Mintboys doesn't have Photo ID Verification or Reviews like RM, to keep providers accountable, then the site gets plagued by scammers.

I am convinced that Mintboys is filled with nothing but scammers.

I don't want to blame the victim, but the 1st red flag, and mistake of the client, was to accept going to buy lubricant. A professional has always all his supplies ready and wouldn't need to buy anything. Giving money upfront was also a very rookie mistake.

At least it's just robbing people is his thing.

My thoughts exactly. @lajames was lucky that the scammer wasn't violent and armed.

my periodic reminder:

in your pre-meet communication and planning (if meeting a new person), politely say you'll pay at the end of the meet, mention you don't want to talk money during the meet, and then ask him if he's ok with those conditions......this assumes, of course, that you've come to an agreement on meet activities and that he won't try to upsell in the middle of the meet......

not coming to this agreement beforehand can certainly lead to the provider's possible request for payment at the beginning, the client's awkward refusal, and then more awkward problems

Maybe the ad has already been removed.  The link just leads me to a page of listings.

I'm a little perplexed by the story, but as others have written never pay up front unless you know the provider or have good reason to believe he's trustworthy.  Even for someone with a known, solid reputation I'd probably just look for someone else if he wanted to be paid up front and I'd never met him before.

Your second sentence was you met him in a store parking lot. If that didn't raise a red flag, I don't know what does. A bar, his or your home, his or your hotel : those are places to meet someone. It's always terrible to be victimized, but using some common sense never hurts, either.
