On CNN this morning, they were reporting on the failure of Lehman Brothers as employees were leaving the building. Suddenly two hunky guys standing behind the CNN reporter grabbed each other in what appeared to be an embrace of consolation. Then one guy hiked his shirt over his head the the other hunk started licking his tit! Really Hot! The CNN guy droned on, unaware of what was happening behind him. Unfortunately the camera swung away and we missed the rest of the action. Still, a great moment for CNN! }(

RE: Were the guys Anderson Cooper and Rob Marciano?

Yes indeed, a great moment for the apparently homophobic (sp?) CNN but what a horrible moment for the nation and the continent. You have been writing for some time now about the impending disaster, most recently I think in a reply to the discussion in another forum about rates. If my memory is correct you mentioned that well-heeled folks would soon get their annual investment reports - and discover they weren't as well of as they had been.

Do you people think there is enough serious concern about the effects of the sub-prime crisis - or would that merely incite panic and this is the reason for the seemingly cautious reporting?

RE: Were the guys Anderson Cooper and Rob Marciano?

I happen to watch CNN quite a bit and have never witnessed a homophobic moment on their part or the part of their employees. Actually I give them high marks for hiring a broad cross-section of the population, and I think when Americans watch that channel, they see themselves reflected.

The actual moment captured on live TV this morning was one of those inevitable things that happen when you have live, on-the-scene reporting, sort of like a streaker at a football game during mid-time. After the segment, the three chairs (John Roberts and his two female co-anchors) were laughing about the incident as typical New York street theatre.

I do post on serious economic issues in the Politics forum where the discussions are serious and sometimes partisan. Here in the Lounge, I just thought a moment of levity was warrranted as life will go on, no matter how serious the financial crisis becomes. It always helps to be able to laugh even in the most serious moments, as long as you are not laughing at the victims. In this case two guys were just hamming it up and I found it hilarious and clever, since I think the shirt being shed was intentional. And they were gorgeous hunks!

There were perhaps four wedding announcements in the Society Section yesterday's New York Times involving Lehman employees including one gay couple one of whom was a Lehman. I wonder where they'll spend their honeymoons?

I too would like to see the u-tube posting of this incident.

My goodness, I really did not mean to offend you and everyone else here. One thing you mention is that you post in the politics forum about the economy, but I know I have read some of your comments here and in the Deli, as I never read the politics forum - although I am certain that is where you post most of your economics reflections. For instance, yesterday you posted this:

#10. "RE: NYC INCALL Rate Drops..."

In response to Reply # 6

In a few months, well-healed clients will be receiving their investment portfolio reports and will be shocked to see how much money they have lost in the last year. Those residing in New York will also become uneasy when they see the value of their real estate holdings taking the same downward path that other areas have already experienced.

The sight of thousands of investment bankers either walking the streets or living on reduced incomes will send chills through all the entertainment world of Manhatten, including the escort markets. Just wait and see! There is a financial hangover coming if it has not already arrived for many and few will be spared.

Insofar as CNN is concerned, I have read here in the past that AC was not able to speak openly of his sexuality because it was probably in his contract that he could not. The owner of CNN has often been referred to here as being anti-gay.

In any event, I take your comments seriously, I apologize for seemingly having offended this board, and take it that I should really not post.

Thanks

No need to apologize. I just wanted to comment on CNN's role in this little street drama that was played out on their show this morning. I hope it does find its way to U-Tube. I just love these unscripted moments when they occur. It just makes me chuckle. :7

And I have no idea about Anderson Cooper and I can't imagine why he would want to discuss his being gay, if he is, on air. It has nothing to do with being a journalist.

FYI....The guys involved in the 'make out' session are from

"The Howard Stern Show." Both, apparently claim to be

straight. I heard the incident referred to on the morning

radio program. (If ONLY the guys were Rob Marciano and Anderson

Cooper...)

BG, has it been censored? I watched 3 times and saw no such described moment:( Or, if it's still there, can you give me time it appears?
