I Care A Lot (Netflix)

Released for streaming instead of in-theater, this is a fun dark comedy/heist/gangster flick.

 

Highly implausible and the writing gets a little lazy towards the end, but it's an easy watch.

 

Sidenote: I've liked Rosamund Pike since Gone Girl. While the film was entertaining, if you can read the book, it's really superb storytelling.

Fast food movie. Goes down easy but you regret eating it after it's over. Don't think about it too much about it after viewing or you'll hate it.

 

Best thing (only thing?) for me was seeing Chris Messina's sexy smile in those over the top suits.

The premise terrified me. I thought it all too plausible that there are people who will prey on older people who are alone and have money.

Many, if not most, people have no POA or executor to others or even locatable family and courts have to appoint one. I'm sure it's often the same ones.

 

Not that anyone's ever compared lawyers to vultures.

I thought the movie was a terrific black comedy. It was highly entertaining.

 

It had an excellent review in the Financial Times which said it was surprisingly easy in the US for an old person to be committed and find their financial matters organized for them.
