Masseurs who request pics... ?

I recently had 2 different masseurs ask me for a pic of myself. It's not something I've encountered before, so I was a little surprised by it. For me massage is about relaxing and not dealing with the BS I've sometimes had to deal with on Scruff and Grindr, which are very looks oriented. The last thing I want to think about when booking a massage is whether the masseur thinks I'm hot or not. I'm not saying it's a deal breaker, but it definitely caught me a little off guard.

Curious to hear how others feel about this. It's the first time I've had it happen. Would love to hear others' thoughts/opinions on this.

I think it's unwise to ever send your photo to a stranger under these circumstances.

Who knows why they want it or how they might use it.

And the idea they might want to screen their clients in this manner is obnoxious to say the least. When they pay me, I'll send them a picture.

Well said.

I would never send photos of myself because it would obviously be too tempting for the provider to steal them for his profile pictures. I learned that lesson the hard way. So many of the headless, super-buff fake profiles floating around are using my personal gym pics, but I've just been too shy to admit that to anyone here. LOL... in my dreams! I can't even remember what a gym is... ?

A masseur? I wouldn't send a photo. An escort? I used to share a photo of myself on occasion because I would prefer someone decline to meet me in advance based on my looks than show up and provide an unenthusiastic experience and get my money. If someone led with wanting my photo, I wouldn't provide it. It was only after some back and forth and I felt we were a good match that I would share it, and I never sent a photo that wasn't available on my Adam4Adam profile already so I didn't feel like it was particularly risky to share it. Maybe I'm naive and I was just lucky, but I didn't perceive it as particularly risky to share a g rated photo of myself (and even my X rated one if I was chatting with someone on Adam and decided to unlock my private photo).

Pictures or requests for personal information ends the conversation with me. As the client I'm doing no favors; I'm paying.

Agreed. An escort asking is somewhat out of line. That's much weirder coming from a masseur.

Had it happen once with a masseur who I’d seen previously but he wanted to refresh his recollection. No problem. Had it happen again a few months ago with another local guy where we’d set a date and time for the appointment, but then he wanted a photo before he’d give his address. I obliged, he went dark. Lesson learned.

I can totally understand the former request, and like you I'd have no problem sending a pic to a masseur I'd already seen previously to jog his memory. But a new masseur requiring a pic before sending his address, and then ghosting you after you were courteous enough to send it?? That's insane. Makes you wonder how some of these guys stay in business.

I have shared my Adam4Adam profile in the past when I thought it was appropriate. All photos are G rated and it shows off my gorgeous smile and cute dimples! (I exaggerate, of course!)

What about ** Clients ** asking for pics ????

I was getting a massage two weeks ago from my reg guy here in Long Beach.. During the massage his phone was ringing I told him to answer it... It was possible a new guy calling him but he was asking pics of body Body etc.... He was telling him real nice that his pics is posted on his website / google listing and other websites for massage.

But the guy on the phone was very high demanding wanting more pics..... WOW...

Why would you tell the masseur to answer the phone during a massage?

You sure seem to know a lot of things from your regular guy's point of view. It's almost like you are him. Eerie.

Um... Not sure where to begin with this... If you really are a client, why do you care? And if you're a masseur, then isn't this just part of the job?

When I'm booking a massage I definitely want to see what I'm getting into. If a guy doesn't have many pics in his profile, if they are fuzzy, if they look overly photoshopped, or if there seems to be age/body differences between the different photos then you're damn right I'm going to ask for more pics. It's my right! Just as it's the masseur's right to tell me no.

Let's be honest, these guys make pretty good money (and some of them without any real training or expertise at all!). If I'm about to fork over good money to them the least they can do is be a good sport and send photos if requested.

Though tangential, this ties in well to my original post. Masseurs who request pics = red flag. Masseurs who give me a hard time if I ask for a few more pics = red flag. Moral of the story: shady tactics = lost business. It's simple math. End rant.

This is the only photo I will ever send to a provider who dares to ask:

Hey @bigdale - you can never go wrong with a picture of Ben Franklin. Hello Masseur - if you want a Benjamin, then you'll see me. Plain and simple, if you are so interested in what I look like, it's most likely not for a massage but for something more!

My ghosting experience after sending a pic was with https://rent.men/TaylorReignXXX

I wish he would have gotten to the ghosting before I traveled to LA to see him.

He's a porn star so not surprised. Guess he feels that he has a right to pick and choose. You just weren't the flavor of the day. Don't take it personal. I'm sure you've had many other good experiences.
