I prefer ExpressVPN. I'm also a fan of SurfShark.

Both have a ton of server options, platforms and inexpensive options.

I use surf shark but I dont feel I'm getting all the benefits of it. Im still trying to figure out how to use it. Do you know how much it sucks being an analog person in a digital world? Lol

Hugs,

Greg

I followed @Benjamin_Nicholasadvice and chose Express VPN. Not convinced that I need it though.

I have ExpressVPN and am very satisfied with it.  All of the evaluations of VPN's that I have read rate ExpressVPN as the best.  Having a VPN is a good thing as it "covers your tracks" from anyone attempting to get your computer's IP address.

If you're not traveling through or living in a particularly internet-restrictive country, why use VPNs?

For me, I enjoy watching certain television shows that can't be streamed through US-based connections.

For others here, it makes it easier for them to use multiple screen names to push their agenda.

... Allegedly.   :)

I have had a paid VPN for a month now and still do not see the benefit. Maybe it was a dumb purchase, but I am remaining hopeful as I learn how to use it.

There are many additional shows available free that are PPV here in the US and all episodes of something like Mare of Eastown are available immediately.

My Czech friends access Czech language shows on Netflix Europe etc while they visit here.

I did have the AVG VPN i bought from NewEgg and it was super cheap and easy.

As others have said, apart from the privacy aspects (which may or may not matter depending on your preferences and the issue involved) some things are geo-blocked. I know a lot of Australian broadcast media are only available in this country, and the same sort of restrictions are imposed elsewhere. I frequently see youtube and some cable TV content from the US that 'the up-loader has not made available in your country'. I've never seen the need to use a VPN to see it, I just move on, but I can understand why people would do so. For the most part, if you use Facebook or Google you've lost any privacy anyway, so I'm not sure that protecting any that remains is worth the effort.

I don’t use ExpressVPN, so I can’t comment on it specifically but have you confirmed your anonymized traffic is routing to a server out of country?  If you’re still appearing to be inside the US, it would not make a difference.

When you visit https://www.whatismyipaddress.com does it show your ExpressVPN IP instead of yours?  If it does show the ExpressVPN IP does it show the location outside the US?

And are you using one of the international URLs (such as rentmen.eu) instead of the main US address?

I'm not sure that is part of the problem. I use the rent.men version of site from outside the US and see the information that is hidden in the US.

To be specific, I live in Australia and use the rent.men address to access the site (I have also entered via rentmen.eu) and that information (specifically text comments in RM reviews) is visible to me via both those URLs. Rates are visible for escorts who are not in the US, but not for US escorts. I have assumed that rate information is not allowed for them rather than hidden from US readers of the ads. (When I have been in the US, rates for non-US escorts, visible here, were not displayed.)

so nobody here uses NordVPN?

I use it across all my devices. The only annoyance for me is that only a few countries work for Netflix. 😕
