Club 20 was a great venue if only one night a week - it was contemporaneous with Gaeity and Splash Bar when New Yorkers still knew how to have a good time.

Thanks for reminding me! I did get to go there several times on my trips to NYC, and enjoyed myself.

You are very welcome. I had so many lap dances back then.

My (possibly poor) recollection is that Club 20 emerged after the Gaiety closed. For me it was OK, but didn't come close to Gaiety. One of the Gaiety dancers I saw a couple of times was one of the first managers of Club 20. It was nice to see him again, even though it was a different context.

A number of us Gaiety alum met and became regulars at Club 20. We'd often meet beforehand for supper at the Olive Garden at 22nd and Sixth and watch the dancers pass by in the windows on their way to "work". Then we'd rush to get to the club before the $10 door charge went into effect at 7 pm. We'd sit in a semicircle along the right side of the auditorium outside the restroom and critique the stage performance of the dancers and some of the lap dances happening behind us. We'd also comment on our tastes in lapdancers and reminisce about the Gaiety of blessed memory. That's where I first met Tim Adonis founder of the Adonis empire. He was doing seated massages for $10 a pop I think. Those were the day eh @Cooper?

Good memory, g56whiz! There was a time when a group of us would gather for dinner, then take in the early show at the Gaiety and end up at Stella's. One could be home in bed by midnight! Or, home in bed with a hot new friend. Cooper was the main organizer of these events as I recall.

It wasn't quite the same with Club 20, but one made do!

Does anyone remember club 20 on 20th st between 5th and 6th ave.? It was a such good male club.

@Lucky @g56whiz. Yes certainly good times @ The 20 Club. It opened in Jan 2006. Found the original thread. Nice trip down memory lane. Glad most of the “Posse” is still in touch. NYC really

needs a comfortable club like this. Enjoyed our days of dinner, relaxing at the 20C, and being entertained by some of NY’s hottest dancers.
