Hell No! Never cosign. If you really wanted to do something like this (and I wouldn't recommend it) but do the lease solely in your name and either sublet it to him or let him live there.

it really says something about his credit score.. or lack of steady paycheck or any other qualifiers for an apartment that he needs a co signer.

i cosigned once for a personal trainer that worked for me. it was a car loan for which he bought the car from me. he later went on to become a very famous huge bodybuilder escort. he passed away about 6 months ago so many of you will know of whom i am speaking. he made every payment but the last one. so i had to cough up that car payment. i was fortunate i guess that it was only one payment. and i wanted to sell the car.

funny story. i will never forget going to the bank with him. we sat in the office of the banker. he was a big 'ol flaming queen! my god if you would have seen the look on the bankers face with this muscle god and all his muscles bulging out of his tight shirt while sitting in front of the queen was hilarious! the banker was sweating profusely and stuttering. that was worth cosigning right there! muscle boy should have got up, ripped his shirt off and stuffed his huge pecs in the face of the banker and said "now suck on these huge nipples"! the banker would have been delirious and signed on the line of the co-signer and i would have walked off scott free! hahahaha

This is a first time for me.

Expand and read the narrative reviews in his rentmen ad. You will see that he has a spotty past in making some clients happy but making others not so happy.

To ask for a co-signer would seem to have glowing reviews which this guy does not.

The unusual request for a co-signer plus his mixed reviews together with his frequent screen name changes are enough to make most readers say "no" to his con artist request.

That's what usually happens... before leaving his place he simply stopped paying knowing you would or your credit would have suffered.

If I opened the thread was not because I thought anyone was in risk of being scammed. I rather see it as an example of the stupidest criminal plots.

Exactly! Thanks for providing some much needed comic relief during these tough times. This guy has always had horrible reviews from people that were unfortunate enough to hire him. Everything I've ever read about him says that he's a flake. Looks like karma is striking ;)
